Just introducing Millie :) (Now renamed Molly!) She is about 10 weeks old - a Russian dwarf hamster, and one of an unexpected litter, adopted from Happy Hamsters. She was a bit nervous when I tried to take her out of the pet carrier, so I transferred her into a bin with bedding and toys, from where it would be easier to transfer her to the cage. She seemed quite happy to be popped in the small bin and happily chewed on a yippee and seemed quite chilled. She is really curious and quite tame - she walked on my hand (I think hoping to climb up my arm and find a way out!) She seems to have a lot of personality.

Here she is in the bin (where she was for about 15 minutes until going in the cage).

Here she is climbing on my hand. She was quite happy being held and I lifted her into the cage from the bin by hand quite easily.

And here she is exploring her cage. She then disappeared into the round ceramic hide with the food on top and is still in there!

It’s so lovely to see her exploring her new home, she is full of curiosity & really enjoying having a good look round, she does look chilled too.
Love all the meerkating in the bin! Climbing up your arm is a favourite trick, they can be so fast too.
She really is lovely, I love her name too, it does seem to suit her.

So looking forward to seeing more of you Millie 😍

What a beautiful baby! I love the white tummy.😍 She looks so happy exploring her new home.

It's her little ears that get me :-) Contrasting colour - and paws as well :-) Her colouring reminds me of Moo otherwise - one of my previous Syrians - he was black with a white patch on his chest as well.

How adorable. She looks so confident and really enjoying discovering her new cage.

She's gorgeous. Congratulations on your new addition. Looking forward to seeing more of her.

She is super cute, congratulations on getting her! Has Raffy had any reaction to her smell yet?

Welcome Millie, both to your new home and to the forum. She is beautiful Maz and quite unexpected colouring for a dwarfie. She certainly enjoyed a good look around her new home and hopefully she will settle down quite quickly.

Lovely to see Millie in her new forever home. She looks very happy and calm. 🐹🏡💕

Thanks everyone, and I'm sure Millie says thanks too :-) Raffy is asleep and I don't think anything would wake him up ha ha. He is coming out very late at the moment. But I do think he might start coming out a bit earlier when there is another hamster around. He seems slightly subdued at the moment in the cage- but fine once out of it.

Congratulations Maz! Millie is beautiful, I love her colouring 😍 those little white feet/paws are just too cute. So nice to see her excitedly looking around her new home, she’s going to be living her best life with you. Look forward to hearing more about her as she settles in and you find out more about her personality day by day 😊

So she's been out on her wheel and keeps coming to the front of the cage as if she wants to come out. She's very friendly.

She reminds me of how Sprite was when he first arrived. Millie sounds very excited. 😊

She sounds really happy, I guess she probably got used to interaction & handling at the rescue, she seems very confident.

She's still coming out quite a bit - she's found the multiroom house - and just now I found her climbing the front bars! There are only 3" of bars visible (apart from the door) but I'm glad I have the perspex round the top as she couldn't get very far.

I think she's excited yes, but perhaps also a bit skitty about the change so looking for a way out. Or maybe she just likes being out! It will be good if she wants to come out regularly. I'll need to set up a playpen.

Well she has quite an aroma - which I will need to get used to! So I would think Raffy would be aware of it and her being female. I hope it doesn't drive him bonkers.

Welcome Millie! She seems really confident and it looks like she loves her cage :)
