Meet my robos

Awww , yes Syrians are hard work. I love my robos , so fast ,so tiny and so cute. Miss Marple slept by the frog yesterday but wasn't there this morning so I think she must have found one of the hides. Not seen her at all today. Tho she must have had fun in her soil bath as the soil was everywhere ! And there are lots of tiny paw prints in the sand bath.

No doubt she will soon be cuddling with you 🫶 she has done very well for the first few days 🌺 and I am looking forward to seeing more fotos soon. Such a sweet tiny little lady 😍

I had been looking for a robo when I got Higgins :-) And couldn't find one - so hard in my area. Even pets at home stores within 70 miles don't have an adoption centre! In hindsight I might as well have adopted one from London and got the train - probably quicker than some other places 60 miles away. But just nothing to adopt. Then an NHC breeder in my area had a litter of Syrians ........ I had always said I would never have two syrians at the same time again, but at the time, Tino had been invisible for many weeks. Of course as soon as I got Higgins, Tino appeared and wanted to be out all the time! I still think it's quite intensive having two Syrians at the same time. A Syrian and a Robo works well for me :-) Different habits at different times and double the joy!
I hope you find a robo 🙏 it would have a beautiful home with a caring mum 🌺

Ooh tiny paw prints :-) They love their sand. A question - how do you get your robos out for playpen time? I've only had two and both were too shy to even walk into a tube. I had a contraption set up in the cage that Pip used to walk into and I managed to get him out that way! He liked to come out so he would go in it when he wanted to come out but he would run away if he saw a hand.

They are all different Maz. Now I can just pick Holly up from anywhere and give her cuddles, which she loves, and pushes her head up for more. Bobby gets the blue house with a mealworm in it. Sometimes I manage to catch Harry , I try the tube , but most times he avoids. But while he avoids he sometimes runs in the tube on his cage , and I just take it off with him in it. Pedro used to be tube with mealworm in , and sometimes the pink house with mealworm. Just have to be patient and wait. When I got Miss Marple home , I set up her playpen and got her out of the carrier by scooping up a pile of bedding with her in it and dumping it straight in playpen. To get her out , I put the pink house in with some bedding and left it in pen and waited , and she went in it.

Once I've got them I put them in a laundry basket to transport them. I have bonded with harry and mostly Bobby, in the laundry basket. They run around in there and I put my hand in and smooth their side as they run past. Eventually Bobby paused when I smoothed him, and then stayed still while I smoothed him. I catch them to put them back from the laundry basket in cupped hands.

A lot of patience while sitting in the playpen with them. They'd run around and eventually climb on me. Then as they're running around me I just caught them quick in scooped hands and hold them for a second and put them back down , and kept repeating this. Holly was the fastest to enjoy being scooped up and held and smoothed for any length of time , and fell asleep in my hand several times. She enjoys lying in my hand being stroked. The boys , when I scoop them up , let me stroke them for a few seconds then run off up my arm. Lol

That’s so sweet. Yorkie helped me with my fear of picking Nibbles up 🙏 i was frightened to hurt him. I think most people fail in hand taming because they fear of hurting these precious little fluff balls. 😍 I am so glad I listened to Yorkies advice and very grateful 🫶

What a beautiful setup 😍 I love those tiny houses 🏘️

That laundry basket looks perfect for the job! With pip I had this contraption. It's a ferplast pod thing that is designed (cringe) to attach to a hamster cage as a place to go. You can attach tubes to it. So I had the pod in his cage with one 3 way tube attached. 3 way because the top part was capped off, but slowed him down shooting out of the tube because he used to stop and investigate the top exit!.

So I had some bedding in the pod and would put the odd treat in there. Pip liked to go in it and rummage around. So when I saw him in it I would put my hand over the tube to lift him out. The second he saw my hand enter the cage he would run for it, but the extra length of the pod meant my hand got to the end of the tube before he did!

Then I'd lift the whole contraption out and put it in the playpen. Eventually he just used to go in it because he liked it and associated it with coming out.

My attempt at handtaming was a cardboard box. When he'd had enough I used to put it on its; side int he playpen so he could run out, but your round laundry basket looks much better!

Anyway this was the contraption in his playpen - I don't have a photo of it in his cage, but it lived there.

It's this thing - Ferplast Lab. The centre bit comes out so it makes an open hide type thing. It's a horrible idea as something to attach to a small cage but worked really well as a robo taxi! And it was ridiculously expensive!

This is Nibbles sand bath taxi, he climbs in it when I want to get him out of the playpen. He’s got one in the cage too, he loves them. I bought them on Amazon for six euros each. I just coved the entrance with my hand. It’s similar to the pod.

If you keep lifting him ,eventually you should be able to just.lift him out of the playpen with your hand like I do with Robin
