Mr Nibbles Diary

I'm OK, I'm on holiday. I booked vacation at this time months ago to try to be at home for the piggies during the heat waves. I have been allowed to plan my working from home days for heat wave days as well which is nice. It's 26.8 but my piggies, who feels the heat, seems relaxed. Truffle even stamped in his loft, which means he wants veggies. I think if Nibbles was too hot he would come out. I hope he comes out soon

I am glad you could take a holiday it’s far more comforting when you are there and can actively try to keep them cool.
Nibbles is out and in the playpen, I hope he doesn’t over do it in the wheel.
He peed in his bed a little, I guess it was too hot to go upstairs. He has also started peeing in the sandbath. He is so proud of his en-suite. He redecorates it daily
We have got a massive storm just building up, so far only lightning and storm. It doesn’t seem to bother Nibbles. I am more scared.

That’s interesting, yes maybe he peed in there to cool down

Yes it’s cooled down to 24 degrees in here. but I can’t open all the windows until he goes to bed and so far he seems so happy. He has power naps in the wheel

I am so relieved that my little friend is okay. he had a great time in his playpen and when I said it’s bedtime at 1 am he didn’t want to go. He went in his house in the playpen and wanted to sleep there. I persuaded him to climb in the taxi and took him back. He came for some cuddles, searched all his treats and stacked them away. Now he’s having another spin on the wheel. all the doors are open and it’s cooled down a bit. I love this little boy, he’s so trusting and sweet natured. A bit mischievous at times but always friendly and social thank god for keeping him safe in this heat.

Thanks Maz yes it’s cooled down. It’s supposed to get hot at lunchtime but for now it’s great

Super that Nibbles is coping with the heat. Nibbles when it cools down you should go back to using your big boy ensuite but I'm really glad you are dealing with the heat so well, clever hammy

Today I used to toilet though.
Mum is very annoyed today with a man called Petrus.
It’s hot, humid and stormy so she can’t put the parasols up. She keeps saying sorry Nibbles
I am okay a bit warm but not too bad. Hope you and your brother are okay? Take care of your lovely mama my dear aunty

Survived another horrible day (33 degrees) it is just horrible.
I managed to keep the temperature down to 26 degrees, I found out the fan is better without using the ice water as that makes the humidity rise and with that the temperature. It’s all experimenting the parasols had to stay down due to 25km wind (unfortunately the wind was not cool, more like the heat coming out of a hot oven)
I treated myself to a far too expensive punnet of strawberries and will have them for tea later. Now I am going to have a freezing cold shower and just chill until Nibbles wakes up. He slept in the mch house today but came to the door for some broccoli i wish he would come out and drink water.

I've been book nooking away, snip snip stick stick bit by bit it's taking shape. I put a window on the wrong way round, but it's OK, not a disaster The piggies are holding up OK so far I hope Nibbles is still perky. Enjoy your strawberries

I haven’t seen Nibbles in a while he’s in the house
It’s still 27 degrees in here and outside gone down to 28.
I am waiting for it to cool down.
I am glad your are enjoying the book nook it’s so much fun.
I would love to see it when it’s finished
I have not done much, just melting away

He’s out he wanted to go in his playpen. I put it in the kitchen tonight it was cooler there and I could leave the fan running in the front room.
He seems fine, I just wish he would drink more

Same with Higgins tonight. . Once back in his cage he tried to climb out again.

Half past one I persuaded him to go back it’s still 25 degrees and he’s running in his wheel in the cage now. I was so worried about the room temperature but he seems to really manage it well. He’s eating grooming sat in his bigger water bowl and splashed around again (he can only get his feet in there). So I feel a bit more relaxed about the coming days. All the balcony doors are wide open so it might be a bit cooler tomorrow morning. He’s full of energy but was also very affectionate tonight. He likes to hold my finger and sniff it throughly
I hope he enjoys another few hours without me, he doesn’t like it when I leave and runs after me in his house, very difficult not to get him out again but I know I must not give in and spoil him more than he already is night night and sleep tight everyone
