It has taken me many months to lie down like this, out in the open. It has taken me many months to allow stroking and massages and nose rubs. I was not an abused bunny, just very, very nervous and highly strung. Most of the time, I would run as fast as I could behind a chair if anyone tried to fuss me, even mama!
But mama said "That's fine, if you don't want fuss and kissed and strokes, you will never be made to endure them."
Mama let me be me, a wary, wild-like bunny who found human touch very frightening and distasteful. I don't know why I was so very nervy, maybe the wild ancestry of my forefathers simmered high in my being.
Now, and over the last few weeks, I have begun to love being loved! I will sit for ages being stroked, and kissed, and gently massaged. I let most people touch me and stroke me now.
I don't know what changed, but I do know what *didn't* change, and that was simply being accepted the way I was.
Sometimes, that's all we need. Nothing more, and nothing less than acceptance, and to be loved for just being us.
I am a happy, confident rabbit.
Because I was loved and accepted without condition.
That matters. It matters so very much! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œCompress_20221211_142045_5800.jpg

What a beautiful and happy bunny! Sweep looks so relaxed there. I did not realise you had other animals too. How lovely.😍

I've got Sweep , two cockatiels, Billy and Rio, (Billy a rescue, Rio a re-home) and two fancy goldfish. I shall give you the politer version of their names... 😜 They are Fat-Butt and Fatter-Butt.
Fat-Butt has been under the vet recently and is on antibiotics for an abscess on his eye. Great improvement now though πŸ‘ They are bubble eye goldfish, highly prone to eye injuries. Yet another man made creation without thought for the creatures wellbeing 😒 These two were no longer wanted so I took them πŸ’œ

Aww, I agree with you. They should never be bred. They are clearly thriving with you though.😍 I am impressed you found a vet who treats fish. They are quite rare.

As you can see, they have magnificent beam ends on them, hence the changes of names πŸ˜‚ Plus, they're both boys πŸ˜ƒ

They are sooo cute. I used to have a black one. I think he was a black moar or something like that.

Such a beautiful photo of Sweep! And so good to hear about how he now accepts being stroked because he's accepted as himself. Looking at that photo - did you call him Sweep after the glove puppet or because he's black? I'm curious because it's just occurred to me that the the glove puppet sweep looks a bit like your bunny! Except I always thought the glove puppet was supposed to be a dog!

Lovely video of your fish!
