Hello all!

New addition Frodo is doing well, he came out for some cuddles and exploring yesterday. I let him settle for a few days and oh my lord, he never had anymore than an inch of bedding before and oh goodness I felt a little bad digging him up last night but I wanted to make sure he was doing alright and he loves his crazy amount of bedding so I couldn’t even find him right away. Though he had managed an escape! He’s not fond of sitting and stuffing his cheeks with me like Chubbs did but he’ll happily take treats once he’s back in his cage :)

Anyhow, I haven’t been on the forum often lately so I have to introduce two new girls! Tipsy and Mowgli! They’re around 5 months I’d say now and turning into lovely fat pigs! They’re actually absolute monsters! lol anything they can find to flip over, they’re gonna flip it! Their house, their potty. Agh! Hahaha they’re so cute though so I let them get away with murder. Ill
Post some pics of them here :) I know some folks here have Guinea pigs- can you show my what you have for cages for them? Mine spend most of their day in a big playpen and then have a cage for nighttime but they need an upgrade! Anything other than C and C grid style available? Thanks!

Great to hear your little ones are all safe and happy. Your piggies are gorgeous and very comfortable with being handled, lucky you! My two piggies are just starting to let me stroke their heads, but the slightest awkward movement and they're off. Guinea Loft make nice looking cages. I am interested in them. They use perspex panels. There is another playpen style enclosure on Amazon which uses plastic or perspex sides that are more secure than the Songmics ones which use clips. I'll have a look. I think Dusty's Mom uses one of these enclosures.

Here is the acrylic play pen:

It actually looks really nice. The only thing is if doesn't have a lid, whereas Guinea Loft can do a lid and a sort of walkway around the cage to help get in more steps. if you have grumpy guineas though (boys mainly) they might have a stand off in the walkway. I'm not sure how good piggies are at reversing 😀

The piggies sound such fun! I don't know much about guinea pig cages but I believe the C&C ones are very popular.

Oh those Guinea loft ones look perfect for what I need!!!! I was using the fleece instead of bedding but I found for some reason when using the fleece they use their litter box less and when I use the paper bedding- they use the litter box almost 100 percent of the time. Strange. I think I’ll probably order one of those Guinea loft ones and make a base out of chloroplast sheets for easy cleaning. And you can add pieces to make more space! Love them! Thank you!!!!

Glad it's useful. They make a biodegradable base which is water resistant and can be rolled up and put in the recycling. It sounds like a nice system.

Yes, they can be expanded to any size. Piggies usually stay in their pens and don't try to escape, the opposite of hamsters 🥷 although if they really want to, piggies can jump quite high, and young piggies can shin up the sides of the cage. They are fun! Quite hard work though being grazing animals, they poop like sheep, quite alot and need to be spot cleaned twice a day 🪣🧹
