They do seem to be growing fairly fast then, it does vary from one ham to another, you did well last time so hopefully you’ll manage to trim the a bit easier now you’ve done it before.
As I said before the only other thing i can suggest is trying a different wheel, the harder running surface on a plastic wheel does help to keep them down a bit more.
