Hello, I sadly lost my beautiful minnie last week. She was a dwarf and the friendliest girl you could ever meet. She loved cuddles, was always chirping and loved sleeping on my chest. I missed her companionship so got a new hamster of the same breed. I got him last Monday and he was 8 weeks old. He is beautiful but I have barely seen him. Sometimes he will venture out for a few minutes and listen as I talk to him. A few times I have even been able to stroke him. My sister was looking after him one day and said she picked him up which made him scream but once in her arms he was content and let her stroke him. I’m not willing to do that as I don’t want to distress him. Should he be warming to me by now or is this normal for a new hamster? I wasn’t Minnie’s first owner so not sure what she was like at the beginning. Any experience would be appreciated. Thanks
