Poor little thing now has a bald patch on her neck 
I'm hoping its just from the stress of having her medications these last 3 weeks, her last doses of baytril are tomorrow. The skin looks soft, pink and healthy so I don't think it's something too nasty but I'm not entirely sure what to do about it. Obviously a vet visit if necessary but if its stress related that'll probably not help, on the other hand I also don't like leaving issues to see if they get worse.

That is a good point. Luckily she seems to take any medication well.

That will help I am sure. It's a relief when they finish the antibiotics. I also give a pinch of brown linseeds daily with older hamsters and it really helps with fur loss - I had it grow back doing this before. It took about two weeks of Linseeds before the hair started growing back. They seem to like them and lick them up.That's reassuring, thankyou! These little old ladies are such a worryat least once she's finished the antibiotics I can just put the metacam into some food and leave her to it. No more being woken up when she's sleeping.

She loves linseed so I'm sure that'll go down well! They usually get a little sprinkle of linseed with their porridge, they used to get debittered brewers yeast as well but mine is now out of date and I can't find any online anymore for some reason! I used to get it from Holland and Barret but they seem to not do it any more.

A few of my dwarfs had bald patches under their chin but the skin looked fine so i wasn't overly worried about it.

H&B do debittered brewers yeast in tablet form. Would that be too potent ground?

I'm not sure to be honest, I've still got the box somewhere, I'll have to dig it out and compare it, I'd imagine if it's 100% yeast it'd be exactly the same? I did manage to find debittered flakes earlier, but im not sure how well they'd take to them/if they'd be as easy to hide in food. Worth a try though, it must have helped over the years given their age

You could grind flakes in a pestle and mortar if they're used to powder.

Yes I wasn't aware of it until I saw one of the popular hamster youtubers using it so figured I'd give it a go. It's full of B vitamins and can help boost the immune system and support older animals. It also contains Chromium which has the potential to help the body use insulin better and reduce blood sugar levels. So for the dwarves it seemed quite a good thing to include in their diet from time to time!

She was due to finish her Baytril Tuesday but Monday night she was still slightly clicky, I've decided to give her another week and see how she is then. I dont mind her being on Baytril for the rest of her life but if I can take her off it I'm sure she would be grateful. It's taken her the best part of a month but she's finally realised it isn't a treat and actually tastes terrible bless her, but im still managing to get it into her without too much drama.
She, like Pasha, got a couple of waxworms today for being such a good girl.

Agree - great photos. How do you manage that when syringe feeding?! Camera in one hand? I hope it improves after the second week. If it hasn't you may need to assess with the vet whether it actually is infection any more or something else maybe? She does seem healthy otherwise though as I've only heard that in a hamster who was clearly dying, but she seems too well for that.

The trick is to take loads, one of them is bound to be in focus 
but yes hamster in one hand, phone in the other.
Last time she was at the vet he mentioned it may be a mycoplasma? (Possibly not spelled like that) that I don't think can be got rid of. I would imagine if it were a tumour we would be seeing external signs by now or at least a worsening of symptoms which luckily hasn't happened so far. But I will definitely keep a close eye on it with him, I must be at the vets now on an almost weekly basis with one animal or another so I can see what he thinks.
