Orsa

Good news :-) It's amazing at her age she doesn't even have any fur loss.

I really thought this time she was going to waddle off over the rainbow bridge bless her. I must admit I'm surprised with her hair as well, the missing patch on her neck seems to have grown back too, I wonder if she had got some medication or sticky food stuck there and it just pulled the hair out? Weird. She has lost some weight, she's 39g down from 43g but the same happened last time so not too concerned, she will hopefully bounce back again.

So it appears little Orsa will be tagging along to Pashas appointment on Tuesday, depending on what happens. I've possibly found the problem that her respiratory issue is secondary to. She has a lump on the side of her jaw, which is starting to lose hair. I had been assuming it was something in her pouch the first couple of times I felt it but it's been a few days now and it's still there so either something is impacted in her pouch or she has a tumour 😔

I am really sorry to hear this. I hope the vets appointment goes well for both your special girls.

Sorry to hear this too, hope you get some positive results from the vet visit & she’ll be ok.

Thankyou all, I'm very grateful that she is still extremely well in herself at least, eating and running around happily.
Whatever it is, is very hard which is what made me think it was something in her pouch, but im not sure if it's actually attached to the bone now, it would explain her jaw weakness I suppose.

It could be anything really but doesn't sound pleasant for her.

I’ve only experienced an impacted pouch once but that does still seem like a possibility. It’s good that she’s well in herself, that will be give her the best chance of coping with whatever it is hopefully.

So it turns out it was an impacted pouch, the little bugger has been chewing off pieces of her cork tunnel and pouching them, so I've had to remove that. Makes sense as there is an area which is freshly chewed! I'll get her a nice grassy tunnel to replace it I think. She's had that all cleaned out, much to her annoyance 🤣 but managed to not bite the vet at least.
Another vet visit over with no tumours found, I'll take that!

Haha, the little monkey trying to look innocent.
So glad that it was only a chewed cork tunnel.

She looks very naughty/cheeky on that photo!

Oh wow! I had no idea this could even happen! Thank goodness it was something easily sorted out. I think a cardboard tunnel will suit her now. Lol

I think she may have been pouching it to make a bigger nest, or another one, she has 3 on the go at the moment so I'll have to shove some more nesting material in with her so it's not spread so thin. If I didn't think she would eat them I'd get her some fleecy beds.

Maybe some shredded tissue or extra bedding will suit her.😀

Nothing like torn into strips plain white toilet paper. They love it.
It used to be a regular peace offering for a huffy hamster.

Little monkey! Just when you think you know what’s safe & what isn’t 😆
Great to hear it was nothing more serious & she’s ok now.
