Hello, we have a separate playpen which our Dwarf Pudding plays in most days. However, my daughter made a forage box which is effectively a shoebox filled with bedding and she scatters seeds in it to give him an activity to do in there. Ive noticed when he is back in his enclosure he seems stressed. And today whilst in his forage box i noticed he has made a stash in the corner of the forage box!! Is this ok or does this suggest he is confused about where he home is? What should i do with the stash in the playpen as wondering if he smells it from his enclosure?!

Thanks

I'm sure he's fine. They often do make a stash when they're out of the cage, as they don't know where to put it and don't want to stay out with full pouches.

Sometimes, some of mine have wanted to go straight back to the cage after foraging and filling pouches - and then come out again! You could just leave the stash in the forage box so he finds it's still there next time :)

No worries. She'll get used to it.

When he was back in his enclosure, was he pawing at the sides and acting like he wanted to go back out? Mine does that sometimes if he feels he didn't get enough treats or find enough on the scavenger hunts I set up. Maybe an extra treat or two will help

Good idea! Give him some treats :-)
