Part of Rewilding Europe, Rewilding Ukraine has released 13 wild hamsters, bred in captivity, into the Danube Delta with monitoring. There was another article on here before about the scientist who was working to save wild hamsters in Ukraine during the war.

Lovely article and video. They are doing the familiar hamster thing of climbing the bars. They look very comfortable in their new home and pleased with the large space. They were being fed regular hammy mix, although I'm sure the hammies released last year will be foraging for themselves now
