When Orko tried a nibble he shook himself. I think the texture was a bit of a shock. Cute Scottie liked it. :)

I just cleaned one corner of Scottie's HH and replaced a tube, shelf and the wheel with a clean one.

Of course Scottie zoomed around and run through the clean tube while i was still fastening it into place and stubbornly sat where i wanted to place the clean wheel.

He then sat where his fresh food dish goes as if to say that he should have his food early. Of course i went downstairs to fetch.

Sounds like he was guarding his wheel spot! He looks very cute on that photo. Very fluffy.

Scottie: Okay, as you interfered in my cage I demand my food early!

There's something not right about Scottie. He was ok earlier and took a seed from my fingers.
I think he may have had a stroke. He's unsteady, slow, shaky and one eye didn't look right but is more open now.
Scottie ate a bit of cucumber when i put it in front of him.
I don't think that a vet could do anything for him right now so i'll wait until tomorrow.
Very worrying though.

I remember you saying recently that he looked older suddenly. I am very sorry to hear he may have had a stroke. It is really positive he is eating still.

Yes, he has aged over the last few weeks which made me wonder if he's older than i was told.

Scottie is from a petshop adoption tank and they usually have very little, if any, background information.

He's perked up a little now and is foraging. Still a bit unsteady and disorientated. His breathing isn't right either. It's too fast.

Must go and get another bottle to place it on ground level.

I'm really sorry to hear Scottie isn't quite right. Good he is still doing normal things.

Hmm, Scottie came to the front and looked at me while i chatted to him and then went into his coconut.

Sorry to hear this Beryl, it does sound worrying & rather like he has had a stroke, hope he’ll be ok, they often do manage well for some time after a stroke so fingers crossed for him.

I was up with Scottie for half the night and there were moments where i thought there was improvement but by this morning he had deteriorated further.

His breathing was laboured, he was shaking and his body language told me that he was suffering.

I'm at the vets now to have him euthanised.

Vet said that Scottie had fluid on his lungs which points towards heart failure. I was worried about that when i heard the clicking sound last night and observed his breathing.
Scottie stayed out in the open which is something Robos seem to do when their breathing is compromised. He sat on his wheel this morning.
I'm sad that Scottie has gone and will miss this tiny chap with the huge personality but i'm also glad that i was able to get him the help he needed for his final journey.

I think it is lovely you helped Scottie on his journey. You and Scottie had such a wonderful bond. It is not easy to get the trust with a robo that you had with Scottie.

I am so sorry Beryl. It came on suddenly and he looked to you to help him when he was suffering. And it was the kindest thing in the circumstances. Play well Scottie. We will miss you too.

Oh no, I am so sorry for your loss :(

Glad you were able to help him on his final journey so he didn't suffer.

Very sorry indeed Beryl. Always a sad time.
Play well little Scottie.
