Scottie's current favourite treat is pumpkin seeds. Very apt, Scottie.

I noticed this morning that he pouches the sunflower seed but eats some of the pumpkin seed first before pouching it.

I’ve noticed that with robos and pumpkin seeds too.I think it’s very sensible of them as a pumpkin seed is maybe a little large for a Robo to pouch in one go and they can have pointy ends on as well. So maybe he’s biting off the pointy end and making it a bit smaller to pouch as well!

Or maybe he just wanted to save some for later! They eat such tiny amounts don’t they - and he maybe couldn’t resist a little nibble of it first!

Raffy goes bananas for pumpkin seeds. Pip often leaves treats out in the cage but just nibbles them occasionally!

Scottie must be one of the most fearless hamsters i've ever met.
No one here bothers about the hoover because i hoover daily. Reason for that is freeroaming and pantry moths.
I just hoovered around Scottie's HH and since he was nowhere to be seen opened his door to quickly hoover a front shelf.
No chance. He came running up the front as if he was going to attack the hoover!
He attacked a brush before.
He's not deaf in case anybody is wondering. He answers to his name and knows when we're about.
He's just a tiny and very ballsy Robo.

Wow, he really is brave! It is hard for me to picture a tiny robo trying to attack the hoover! He sounds such a wonderful character.

I know. I couldn't believe my eyes when he went for the brush.

Mind you, Clive hates a little fabric hide in the playground. The hide has a face. He bites it and pulls it about.
It's handy though because sometimes he goes in a corner of a shelf unit and won't come out. All i need to do then is move this hide around the front of the unit and he rushes out to attack the hide following it while i pull it towards me till i can pick him up.
It never fails.

Most of our hamsters don't like the hoover. One was so nervous of it I got one of those old fashioned carpet sweepers! It did the job round the hamster cages very well! And no noise really. Wouldn't fancy doing a whole house with it though. I think they get used to it after a while but I tend to do it in the day time when they're asleep! So they're not quite so aware of it.

Robos get up in the day though - clearly he didn't like the brush! Very brave of him to go for it though instead of run and hide.

It's funny how they take a dislike to something :)

The little monkey bit me today when i had a good look at his nails.
Never had such a feisty Robo.

That's him just now eating a bit of apple with a new yippee in his pouch.

Doesn't he look innocent, the little vampyre, lol.

You would never ever think he would bite you from looking at the picture. He looks so cute munching on his apple.

I cleaned his cage today because it was a bit smelly so took him out and gave him a health check at the same time which he objected to.
He's running on his wheel just now. I didn't clean the wheel or furnishings only took the peed on substrate out and put more fresh in to give him more depth to burrow.
Things very much have to happen on his terms, if not he soon let's me know, haha.

Aww. It sounds like he is okay about the health check if he is out on his wheel.

Oh yes, he soon got over it. He's just a stroppy little character at times.

When i put him back in his cage he was buzzing about and checking everything.

I took a photo of his set up before taking things out to make sure i put it all back in the right place.

He didn't throw a tantrum or bulldoze the place so i got it right.

I hope Scottie appreciates how much trouble you took to put everything back just how he likes it.

Perhaps he was biting as a nod to Halloween?!

Ha ha. Yes I thought that - and you did mention he was quite the little vampire!

I put a small piece of cucumber, tofu and red pepper in the hamsters dishes tonight.
Scottie grabbed the cucumber and run off to eat it in his tube.
The old favourite.
He'll come back for the rest later.
