Thank you everyone My son has ordered these off Amazon for Albert.

We brought the Mr Johnson mixed seeds after a recommendation on here, to add a few extras in the food, he’ll love them Maybe hide one or two around his cage, he’ll sniff them out.

Where can I find a list of safe seeds and nuts for hamsters?

On the safe foods list on here we just say most nuts except bitter almonds, as Elusive mentioned. There isn't a list of safe seeds on here - maybe we should add one!. There are a lot of commonly used seeds that are safe - mainly for dwarf hamsters - Syrians aren't so keen on the smaller seeds and prefer bigger pieces.

I had a list from a di brain hamster mix some years ago - it included:

Canary seed
Niger seed
Hemp seed
Millet
Sesame seed
Linseed (Flax)

They do feed them in Germany but I feel wary about feeding them myself.

Poppy seeds are fine, I’ve never had a ham who was interested though.

That is so cute. Orko loves it too. He will not eat yellow millet as seeds but will eat them as sprays. I have some red millet sprays on the way as he loves those too.

I've used this on and off for a few years! My robos love it! Syrians not so interested. It's a good seed mix. I forgot about it till you linked it as I can only remember the German name! Before they had the Uk website with translations.

No I have not. I order from them often. They are very popular with hamster people so I would not worry.

Hopes Healthy Treats was a vendor at last year's Happy Hamsters UK first Ethical Hamster Fair and has a good reputation.

I get hyacinth tunnels from there (thanks to a tip from Beryl) as couldn't find them anywhere for ages. I quite like that there are this little specialist hamster shops now - although I know what you mean as some things online can be iffy. But a few Uk Hamster cottage industries! The Hamster Homes place, Hopes Healthy Treats and Happy Henry's homes are a few.
