So hot isn’t it?

It’s making me feel very lazy. It’s quite nice in a way - almost Mediterranean - warm evenings. But also quite tiring.

Any hamsters noticing it? Mine seem fine but it’s cooler indoors than outdoors here.

After such a cool summer it is a surprise to have such warm weather.

The hamsters seem fine but the gerbils are struggling a bit.

As least I finally have a reason to use the air conditioning unit I bought after that awful heatwave last year!

I had to get somewhere about 3.5 miles away this evening. I would have got the bus both ways but I ended up walking halfway there and nearly all of the way back because the buses were unbearably hot and stuffy! So my feet are sore and tired now but at least I got plenty of exercise today.

I am finding it unbareable because it does not cool down at night. It is 28c at night currently. Sprite is fine and happily running on his wheel.

It’s been about 28C indoors here at night too, not what I’d call an Indian summer really, I used to like those but I find this totally exhausting, we might be having thunder storms today though

I thought an Indian summer was just warm weather in autumn - ie out of season

Kind of but not like this! Indian summer always meant nice sunny weather late in the season but the nice thing about it was that even though it was sunny it was too late in the season to be too hot but those days are gone now, do we even have seasons any more?!

I am very sad about this awful heat. I barely slept last night and sat in the bathroom with an icepack for two hours until it melted. I am counting down the days until we have cooler weather.

The heat is very unpleasant here in Wiltshire. Can't imagine anybody wanting to visit a sauna in this weather. If they do, they've spent too much time in the sun.....

You could get a large ceiling fan like the one i'm sitting under. They are not loud and make a humming kind of a sound that is quite relaxing. This one is currently on the low setting and gives the whole hamster room a gentle breeze. I leave the one in the bedroom on all night in this weather.

Great idea Beryl. Downstairs here is reasonably cool - old house. But upstairs is unbearably stuffy and hot.

It never occurred to me to sleep downstairs but that would have been sensible!
