Oh! Lol. I think I looked at the wrong earlier post when I was looking at gender.

Her old owners did say she was a boy. I think that's what confused you. Lol. She's doing well all things considered.

Waffles is a girl @Doodleham also has Bruce (boy dwarf hamster) But yes @Doodleham has worked wonders with patience and care.

Well things have taken a funny turn here. The hamsters are in the same room as my guinea pigs. So now waffles has decided that every time I am in the room seeing to the guinea pigs in the morning that she needs attention too, and she chews the bars at the front of the cage. It's so funny. Most days now she's wanting out 2x a day. She now walks from glove to glove which is really good. However hands are still a very firm NO! And she still occasionally attacks the glove (mainly the left glove ) I hope this means she's enjoying my company but it's probably just her trying to get more treats.

I don't know if she'd feel it through a glove. Mind you they're highly sensitive aren't they.

So it's the opposite then - the left hand is the bigger threat so gets bitten more often!

That's amazing! It must be lovely to have got there with her, glove or no glove! For her actually to sit in your hand and groom.

This girl is so funny. I think she knows I've been sad so she's trying to cheer me up.

I cleaned her cage last night but underestimated the amount of fresh bedding I had left so I ran out. She wasn't impressed the bedding wasn't up to its usual height so she couldn't jump straight into the sand bath (The omlet one on stand). So I put half an egg box (the bumpy side and filled the holes with bedding) beside her sand bath to raise the bedding height so she could get into it. It worked as a temporary fix. Fast forward to tonight, I'd been today to get bedding to top up. Started taking out items in her cage to top up the low side. Then went to lift the egg box out........ Waffles was sleeping underneath it!! This girl loves an egg box. She really made me laugh. All the hides she has and she prefers half an egg box.

That's so cute She clearly approved of the clever hide next to her sand bath. I had a piece of flat bark once in front of Nugget's (robo) wheel as a bit of a step up to it. He made a lovely cosy hollowed out nest underneath it. However much hamsters dig their own burrows, I think they prefer the easy life and a ready-made roof!
