Hi I'm Waffles. My birthday is September 2024 (Estimated). This is my 3rd home. (Don't worry Waffles it will be your last home ♥️) I was rehomed as a male hamster but my new hooman thinks I am a girl (she's not an expert though). I'm still setting in and like to scream at my hooman she then tells me it's ok. My new cage has lots and lots of bedding in it and I love to burrow. I've buried lots of my cage accessories 😆 hooman will need to dig them out like an excavation. I hear her every morning say "right Waffles, what have you buried today?? " It's so fun. What can I bury next?? The man hooman says I'm making the lost city. 😂😂 Anyway look at me I'm so cute, even if I am a bit feisty. Oh my goodness, that last photo! It's absolutely adorable - him peeking out from behind the coconut and sitting under the flax. And he looks rather snug in that coconut. That's the one in the photo comp isn't it? :-) And either slightly wary or looking happy while sitting in the food bowl - it's hard to tell! :-)

I had to laugh at him burying everything! What has he been burying in particular (you may remember I had a little teaspoon thief once :-)).

It sounds like he really loves his new home and his bedding and has been digging a lot! He is such a lucky boy havig a nice home with you after his troubles.

She's buried a ceramic dinosaur hide, a coconut hide, the beech chips in the egg box lid, a kitchen roll tube, some sprays, chews. The list goes on.

Oh that really made me laugh :ROFLMAO: Underworld dinosaur, and a whole coconut hide! Definitely quite a hoarder!

Some toys arrived today for Waffles and some treats for both the hamsters. Wonder how long till Waffles buries them. 😆

I'm hoping the hay n hide is ok for Waffles size wise. As it's wider than a toilet roll tube.

Ooh Waffles will love those! The hay and hide looks a good size to me - is it about 6cm diameter? I'm a big fan of those hyacinth tunnels (and hopefully the hamsters are too :ROFLMAO:). What is the other item you're holding in your hand? It looks very cute!

They're reindeer chews. They were reduced 😆. They're like whimzees I think but with seeds and I think some kind of dried veg as the nose. They've got a rosewood leaf chew at the moment that's the same kind of thing, so I'll likely save them for now. Yeah they love the hyacinth tunnels, Bruce has one already. I discovered them when I needed bigger sized things for Sydney (rip). I think they're fantastic additions to their cages. Well little miss Feisty was up demanding more food just now. So I put her hyacinth tunnel in she's been exploring it. I tried to give her a rice puff though the bars and she wasn't happy. Hissed and jumped at me trying to bite. 😬🙈She's a wild one, but she's so funny

Hissing wow! Clearly doesn't like rice puffs! She is bound to take time to start trusting humans. I love the idea of the reindeer chews :-)

Yeah. I'm not bothered if she doesn't want any interaction. I'll let her choose what she's comfortable with. But she's coming to the bars seeming like she's wanting attention. I don't know if they used to let her get into her hamster ball from the cage. As she came with a ball which I recycled.

Today I put waffles in a glass to try and see if she is indeed a boy or as I suspect a girl. Lets just say I'll likely need to try again! As she/he wasn't impressed. 😆

I tried some handling but Waffles decided my hand was too scary to stand on and jumped over my hand into her cage. (Don't worry the glass was low to the bedding when she jumped)"the indignity!!" 🙈🙊

Could that be two nipples on the first photo? Or just little dots? :ROFLMAO:

It's harder to tell from photos with "her" being a darker colour, but those might be nipples on that first photo :-) And as you say if "she's" feisty .......

Waffles really really loves forage!! She always seems to eat all of it. 🤣 It's her turn for a deep clean/excavation tomorrow as her platform finally arrived. (First one came damaged) 🙈🙄

Oh that's annoying if something arrives broken. Which platform is it? She sounds great to watch and it's lovely she loves her forage!

Broken one 🙈. The next one came better packaged. With cardboard round the padded envelope. The first one only had the (not very) padded envelope.

Bad packaging then. Very annoying. Glad you've got another one now though.
