Charlie Boy

Beryl, every Hamster we've had have all been so completely different in character and temperament.
That's true. They are all so different.
How did you chose Charlie?
I remember when i got Henry at petsathome, he was the first one to come out of the tank. I sat on the floor and Henry sniffed around on my knee and that was that. There was no way that i could have put him back in the tank with all the others.

I was looking at the hamsters and he came and sniffed my hand and promptly climbed onto it the shop assistant nearly had apoplexy I thought I'[m having him, I had thought about getting a grey and white but Charlie put paid to that idea.

Charlie chose you then.
That's exactly what happened with me and Edwina. She was tame from day one and made herself at home.
Charlie is out and about already. Great photo of his tail, lol.

Charlie was out and about from the minute I popped him into the cage exploring ,climbing, running on his wheel though he seemed dwarfed on it the damned thing also catches and sticks a bit at time so I got him a flying spinner thingy which was more his size.

Oh Lol! He's exploring!

Is it the 28cm Trixie? Thought i saw a bit of pink. I've cable tied that to the roof by its stand before.

You probably know this already, but just in case you didn't - you know you can either leave the photo as the thumbnail or select "insert" and it inserts the photo in the page bigger/full size. You just move the mouse over the uploaded thumbnail for the word "insert" to appear :)

Yes it is but it wobbles on the shaft so I may adapt it or maybe get a new one when he has grown up

Indeed Maz, but didn't want to have massive images dominating the thread and possibly affecting the bandwidth of the site

Bandwidth is usually ok with all the photos and videos :) Presumably why the upload is limited to 2mb. It's the ones on the homepage that can affect that quite a bit (loading times) so they all had to be compressed.

It's a good point though - why have a lot of unnecessarily large images unless it's a photo comp page or something. I've found it interesting fiddling about with photo uploading on here though. If you insert it as the full size photo, then click on the photo - you can drag it bigger or smaller to whatever size you want. Sometimes it looks sharper than the thumbnail done that way. Although your photos are always dead sharp anyway!

Charlie seemed very quiet last night and wasn't out much when he was out he didn't look happy so I put the Trixie wheel back on the cage alongside the flying saucer he was on the Trixie straight away, guess that tells me what he likes he seems happier with a cluttered cage..

He wanted both lol! I think they don’t find it as easy to run on the flying saucer for any length of time.

Merry Christmas Charlie boy.

Hope you and Raffy had a nice Xmas Day Maz, Charlie found he really liked apple when I was making a Tarte Tatin this morning at 09.30 and Charlie was swapping between his Trixie and flying saucer, he doesn't go to bed early at all, though he does look at me with much suspicion.....
