Don’t know if you can see this…

I have raised his green Trixie corner shelf. You can just see his house its a bit hidden but it has the yellow edges. I think he maybe hunkered down in the front of the house - where all his new loo roll is! We shall see xx

So behind the shelf we have the original pink shelf. The only thing i raised was the green shelf, and the tube that goes up to it xx

He can do that easy he hoists himself up medium carrot houses, no problem at all 😁

That looks good :-) A nice cosy corner for him as well. I think he'll love it.

Thanks guys x

Waiting for him to get up now. Sleeping in late cos he was out today 🤪

New house looks fantastic, great colours and room arrangement 😀 He’ll no doubt be a busy bee tonight organising the rooms with the fresh toilet roll strips. Have fun Davy 🙂

So waited up until 10. No sign of the Davy Doodle.

Then did my usual trick of popping upstairs to get ready for bed then come back down to let him out. As I was coming back downstairs Husband said ‘Davy’s out!’. I asked him where he had come out from and of course (being a bloke 🙄), he hadn’t noticed!

Tonight when he comes out going to take roof off and poke me nose in 😁.

Will report back!

He's probably just settling in with the change. I'd actually suggest it might be an idea not to take the roof off the house just yet. It's very tempting with a lift off roof. In my experience, if you start doing that too soon, they can abandon the house as they suddenly see it as not as safe a dark place as they thought. I have been impatient before to see what the hamster is doing and which room they're in etc or even just to try and tempt them out - but it takes patience really and leaving it alone. Once they're fully settled in and been using it for a while, they freak less if the roof is taken off.

It's entirely up to you of course! Hamster personalities vary and it might be fine. Just my two pennorth!

It sounds as though Davy is getting well settled in & enjoying his nice new house.

I'd take the roof off and have a peak when Davy is in the playroom.
He wouldn't know if you only have a look without touching anything.
The way i understand it is that that was the plan anyway and not to take the roof off while Davy is inside his house.

Good idea. If he comes out.

No absolutely Maz. I would never take the roof off when he is still in his house. I am going to wait until he’s in his playroom then take a sneaky peek! Not touch anything tho I think his ensuite sand will need changing but he’s used to me doing that (that’s presuming he’s still weeing in it 😁).

Sorry my reply is included at the bottom of your post! Can you change it?

Update i have edited! Dunno what happened there!

Oh my god. Davy is out but I didn’t see where he came from! House - which door? Or cosy corner under shelf where he piled up his loo roll strips?

He is looking at me saying ‘haha tricked u mum!’. I didn’t like to tell him I was watching the tele 🤣

So here we go guys! Took roof off when he was in play room!

Pic 1: has used his ensuite! But wee-ing in sandbath too! Thats what he normally does to be honest. Note: little Davy-shaped body imprint in middle (corner) room!
