Forgot to add, they do eat seeds etc. I have hammikins dwarf and bunny dwarf hamster feeds mixed as my basic feed, with the dried insects added in in large quantities

Moth seems to be ‘angry squeak’ and bitey she’s manages to draw blood, which is always a bit of an issue for me. Once I’m bleeding, I take forever to stop, so have to go and get a plaster, or it looks like a crime sceneDuprasi are quite fascinating! I wonder if the fat helps to slow down rises and falls in body temperature. I suppose once domesticated, their temperature preferences possibly change. Yes, if Moth still has her wild instincts, she might find your cat frightening. Sleeping during the heat of the day must be away of dealing with extreme heat. Is she nippy or growly?
They would do, they are supposed to be very placid and chilled. The only caveat with sofas is probably very similar to hamsters……. Don’t let them fall off the edge! I’ve not been big on out of cage time due to the cat, and it’s why I made my cages bigger than standard….. back when standard was smaller. Moth will eventually be getting a 120 x 60 cm cage. I just need to finalise the plans. She looks pretty content there! It sounds like progress. When they are tame, do they like out of cage time? Eg would they sit on the sofa or enjoy a playpen?
