HELP!! LOST HAMSTER

Hamsters have their preferences just like humans and will pick out their favourite bits of food.

They like food that has been put fresh into the bowl and leave the "old" food.
Sometimes they collect "old" food that has been scattered about because hamsters like to forage for their food.

I scatter feed half and put the other half in the bowl. Food that has been left in the bowl for a couple of days i chuck out and start afresh.

They usually sit in the bowl :-) They naturally like to forage for food so will enjoy picking out what they want to hoard. They actually don't really eat much from their bowls - they pouch it usually and take it to their hoards, then eat from their hoards. It's quite important not to throw their hoards away (ie don't clean them out too often) as then they can develop some abnormal behaviours with food or even peeing on their hoards.

Sounds fairly normal!

hii so comet my first hamster doesn't seem scared of me anymore but still doesn't let me pet her so i'll assume she doesn't want to be pet

but my other hamster let me pet him today!!!! he stood still and was sniffing my finger (hopefully she wasn't scared) she doesn't seem scared cuz she still walks around normally with me here but she was standing like a loaf and letting me pet, her she's not scared right?

That's great news! It's real progress if a Robo lets you pet them and isn't scared of your hand. They all have different personalities. Have you tried any hand taming in a safe area. If you can section off a part of the room so it's hamster safe and sit on the floor, you can start with that kind of thing as the hamster just runs all over you like your're a piece of furniture and you can stroke her or pick her up and see if she will sit to be held and stroked. Once they accept you picking them up or will sit on you to be stroked, they are fairly tame.

That is so lovely! It shows you have a nice and gentle way with your hamsters.
