Henry

Or is it just the darkest corner of the room? Mine also tend to go for the grungiest corner - where there can be dust and cobwebs (partly under the stairs).

Henry had a very active week, lots of zooms at full speed & adventures every day. Until his gotcha day approached, then he went into sleepy old man mode the past few days. So much for my plans of a glorious adventure.

Today he came out and melted on his cheese tile, so I took the chance to make him a special treat to celebrate. Made him an egg white omelet, happy 3rd year together Henry!

Happy 3rd gotcha day Henry :-) He's loving that omelette :-) And he looks so sweet melted on his favourite cheese tile. What is the music in the background? It sounds a bit like classical guitar? Is it one of Henry's favourites?

Thank you Maz, here's to many more fun days with the little guy! :love:I'm surprised you can hear that, his favorite was playing on the phone and turned way down while filming:

He did really go at it, still makes it so easy on me that he never overeats his special treats.

So beautiful. Henry's omelette looks delicious! You can see the happiness in his eyes ❤️ Congratulations on your third Gotcha Day ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Socks' Mum! I'm really looking forward to our next adventure, he seems like he wants some more lazy days this week. Going to cherish it when he's up for his next interaction, doing my best to let him be and get the rest he wants.

On the plus side, he really trusts me now and sometimes tries to climb up my arm. Finally lost his fear of handling for good, sometimes I get to elevator him to the bed for quick kisses and a snuggle.

I'm afraid I have some bad news, Henry didn't come out today so I decided to do a health check on him. Unfortunately his right leg is injured, specifically it looks like his hip is the problem. The leg itself and paw look fine, but it is sticking out a little more than it should be and he's having difficulty moving.

Taking him to the vet immediately, it's hard to see after enjoying him going full speed to his heart's content until now. His spirit is still as boisterous as ever, hoping something can be done for him.

Happy gotcha day Henry 🥳 It's Blossom's 3rd gotcha day too on Sunday!
I will make sure to give him an extra pumpkin for you in his little carrier, I happened to be up at 2 am here in the States and got concerned when I didn't see him out still. He has an excellent vet, so hopefully something can be done.

I'm so sorry ilguy - poor little Henry. I wonder if it has dislocated or something. Fingers crossed the vet can help him. He'll almost certainly need some metacam.

They get quite frail ❤️. I hope he will get better. Henry is so sweet. He just gets nicer and nicer. Thinking of you 🙏🐾

Well, this really really sucks but unfortunately the soonest I can get Henry into an appointment is Monday. He will be seeing his main one who is amazing. I tried every other vet in the area, and no luck. Only 3 had exotic vets and this was the best I could do.

I'm going to remove the objects from his enclosure that are climbable or difficult for his leg and do everything I can to keep him comfortable in the meantime :(

I'm really sorry to hear that. It does happen - I know I've had to wait before. Do you have metacam for him already?

I'm sure that will help - if you know the right dose for him. It's bound to be painful. Poor little Henry. It might not be a dislocated hip, but some kind of ligament strain or tear. We had a little dog once who fell badly on wet grass and started walking on three legs. The vet thought the hip might be dislocated, but it turned out to be some kind of strain and they said when it stops hurting, and heals, the dog would start putting weight on it again and sure enough, after some time, the leg appeared again.

This maybe sounds a bit different if it's at an awkward angle. Metacam and treats and nice reassuring noises until Monday.

He is able to move it, my immediate thought was dislocation too but he's able to move it some. Yeah, he's in for all the rest he wants, and I'll be giving him all his favorite treats. I'll play some music for him tonight, and see if he will take the metacam mixed in with his beloved sour cream.

I was able to find a vet that can see him tomorrow morning, thank goodness. Unfortunately it looks bad now, his whole back right side is protruding and sitting lower. I was able to get him to take his metacam, took the opportunity while he was getting a drink. Not the best picture, here's hoping they can help him.
