Henry

He's nibbling so politely 😊 Blossom would start nibbling, then just shove it all in as quickly as possible 🤣
That's Syrians for you :ROFLMAO:
It really was a Syrian sized treat too, wouldn't blame her for pouching it if she were here

So lovely to see Henry so contented ❤️
Definitely, I'm beyond thrilled he's doing so well! Out for another adventure tonight and I added his beloved box for another way up to the platform. It's the perfect height for him to climb on, he loves it.

Henry has such a nice life ❤🐾
Thank you, he's super happy today. He wanted a late adventure last night, but I had to go to bed. I was ready when he got up today and he's so pleased I remembered, constant bruxing.

I wish my phone picked up his noises, he's trying to build a nest in his hide. I also let him take a couple seeds out of the bag, he still takes his medicine no problem

Knew he was going to raid my room, managed to catch him zooming by:

I gave him some bedding near the hide to work with, he is a squeaking up a storm and building a bunch.

Henry decided he wants to be out for hours on end like he used to years ago. Past 2 adventures he was out for 6 hours :oops:Tonight is more of the same, he's having a ball building his nest in the NiteAngel hide. I also took the opportunity to clean his enclosure while he was out, found a new pee spot that needed cleaning.

He's full of zest and energy:

Wow! 6 hours!!!
He just loves exploring, his favorite thing by far. He got up at 4 pm today and demanded out, could be an 8 hour marathon. Little guy is demanding more peanuts, making a big show at the empty peanut jar  Also trying to figure out how to get bigger sheets of paper towel in his beloved spot under the couch

I have an appointment with his vet Monday, going to get him more metacam and possibly formula. Also going to see if needs another ultrasound. He's been acting 100%, but can't hurt to double check

That first video really made me smile, watching him running around carrying that large piece of toilet paper 💓 He really did look like he was on a mission! The second video - he just looks so well and enjoying life - he's a real trooper! Go Henry :-)

Lovely to see Henry so busy and happy ❤
Definitely, he's just having a ball this week

It's so cute watching him go around with big pieces of paper towel, and he is super focused on it. He was out for 9 hours today, lots of running on his old wheel too

Finishing up with Henry's vet appointment, he is in the clear!!! There's still three little lumps, but it didn't make it to his belly or organs.

The only concern is his weight, he has gone down from 46 to 40 G since I weighed him recently. He was at 53 G six weeks ago. He will be back on forumula and anything I can get him to eat.

He also does have cataracts now, but still has the same indomitable spirit. Again these guys are the best vets I've ever been to in my life, and some might be popping in here to check in on his adventures.

Hopefully his last trip in the pokeball, but he will be in good hands if needed

That's great news :-) He is doing amazingly for his age as well! It's lovely hearing about him roaming for hours - I think he considers your apartment is his :-) Some weight loss is fairly normal as they get older but that is quite a few grams. So yes I guess keep building him up and keep an eye on it. I find they can naturally start to feel a bit bonier generally in old age. He may well not be eating all his hard food as their teeth play up in old age as well so now might be the time to start giving softened food. Softened science selective pellets are good - they contain everything needed and easy to eat. Baby food is a nice treat as well but doesn't really have much in the way of calories. I also tend to give a pinch of hemp seeds daily - they are supposed to contain all vitamins and minerals needed and are also high calorie. I like the shelled hemp seeds if you can get them as they're light and fluffy and don't need chewing :-) Hamsters seem to like them as they smell or taste nutty - they just lick them up.

If giving him softened science selective, it's still good to put the regular hamster mix out as well, because even if they don't or can't eat it, they still like to pouch and hoard it out of habit.

Yup, he has been more into soft foods the past few weeks. He does finally eat the science selective, took him a while to give it a go. I'm getting him some oxbow critical care per the vets suggestion too, in addition to continuing to offer him anything he will eat

Really thrilled Henry will get to live out the rest of his life. Love my little buddy so much

How old is Henry now? I'm giving Blossom a bit more Science Selective now she's much older.
My best guess is he's about 2 years and 2 months old. It's a good idea! I might add more tomorrow, he ate all four pellets from his bowl today. Thanks for the suggestion. He also got some more sour cream tonight, and was extra affectionate. Very chatty
