Keeping warm

Well spotted. They don't ship much to the Uk these days, but the occasional thing. I wonder how much delivery costs though.

Oh ok, I didn’t know that! Edit: just had a look. Delivery doesn’t seem to be an issue 🤔 They don’t ship to Northern Ireland tho.

Thank you 🙏 He was a wonderful little chap, and he is very much missed. His favourite thing was to sit beside me and snuggle up while I was knitting. I’m really missing him snuggling up next to me on the sofa as it’s getting chilly and we are staying in more. I’ll post a few pics of my knitted art 👍

What a beautiful boy loosing them is so very hard but the pain you feel at their loss is testament to love you gave while he was with you sending hugs 💕

Thank you. This is so true 💔❤️

Zooplus are based in Germany, even though they have a .co.uk website. Annoyingly they stopped shipping to the Uk after Brexit. Occasionally they will ship the odd item though. Rodipet and Getzoo in Germany still ship to the Uk though. Apparently the amount of paperwork for customs is off putting to German companies.

Ah ok. I’ve used a few .co.uk companies for knitting yarn who are actually in Denmark. I guess it’s worth a try if postage is ok. If not, they do them at Pets at Home too.

Like everything, the price has gone up. They used to be about £13.

I’m so sorry to hear about your little dog, I can imagine how much you must miss him.

Snugglesafe heat pads are cheaper on Amazon than those on Zooplus with free delivery too.
I use them a lot but only if I have a shelf or somethng to put them on that is at least a few inches below the cage, never touching the cage.

Would the snuggle pad work to warm the cage effectively if placed on a shelf above the enclosure 🤔

To be honest I don’t find they give out a lot of warmth. It’s fine for the odd chilly night but once we get freezing weather I have heating on a timer/thermostat at night. I have the snugglesafe close to the cage but not actually against it. Maybe an inch away.

It wouldn’t work above the cage because heat rises.

I find they do give out a lot of heat & easily last the night if placed under the cage, if it’s really cold I put a small fleece blanket over them & the heat last even longer, it also helps with the initial heat not being too hot as well.

I could raise the cage up and slide the heat pad underneath.

That’s what some people do. Raise the cage on a couple of books and slide it under the cage but with a slight gap.

Just make sure there is a gap of a few inches at least between the cage & the pad, I keep it away from the nest area too in case it gets too warm & they feel the need to move out of the nest. You just want some general warmth under there really.

I have an unused continental quilt would this folded to the size of the cage base be an idea I can't think of a negative but asking if anyone else would do this I could probably make it to go up the sides of the base too secured with the scarf idea

I can't quite imagine Jain. I thought they were quite big things. It would certainly be nice and cosy. But would there be excess on the floor or something and just the top wrapped round the cage base?
