Kulfi.

A lovely moment watching him :-) He seems quite a gentle, laid back little boy. I wonder if he'd suddenly become maverick if out of the cage? (Tino was like that - a real dark horse!)

He is actually quite jumpy when he notices me looking at him! He will sprint off into his cardboard hide under the shelf.

He does love his coriander and his nuts which is why he comes out even when the light is on.

Aw. Higgins is still quite jumpy when he's in his cage. He lets me hold him and stroke him when he's out but is still pretty darty when out of the cage :-)

He's adorable! Sorry, I just had to make that photo a bit bigger :-) He looks so gentle.

Isn't he clever balancing on his new shelf?

I wish I could take less blurry photos.

He is a delight.

He's so sweet. I especially love that first photo above :) He still has that young look. The photos don't look blurry to me. I think low light makes it hard to get sharp photos though and it usually is low light when they're out!

I also took a video which won't load!

He must be around a year old now. He came to me in August 2024.

He's enjoying it, listening to you and keeping hold of his kale 🥬 He is a beautiful hammy ❤️

Poor little Kulfi is unwell. Lots of hair loss and some sores. Going to the vet tomorrow. Hoping it isn't cushings.

I could cry looking at his poor little balding body and face and those sores ... he still eats and drinks with enthusiasm and enjoys porridge and hemp seeds most days.

He also plays on his wheel.

My beloved Woodstock has cushings but he didn't get the sores, just the baldness and didn't seem at all distressed. Kulfi just looks all dishevelled and sad somehow.

I really really hope that the vet can help him. Not optimistic though.

Feeling sad.

He does have quite a lot of fur loss. I'm so sorry - I hope it isn't Cushings as well. It does look like he might have a problem with one of his pouches. I hope the vet can help.

Aw that's rough, poor little Kulfi  . It's hard seeing your sweet little buddy in pain, but like you say sounds like he still has a strong spirit. All you can do is get him the care he needs, I'm hopeful for you guys

The vet was useless. She said she didn't have much knowledge about cushings in hamsters and that she would consult with an exotics vet in Bristol and let me know what he said by next week.

He was screaming throughout the appointment and she chose to pick him up. He bit her. She dropped him onto the table.

I was still charged for this so called consultation. I feel really fed up and sad.
