Lilly's loft isn't even a playcage and floorspace wasn't on my mind. It's a practical solution for her to use her flying saucer without her jamming it with substrate like she did in her HH.

I was more thinking along the lines of people converting their attics into an additional living space, office etc.

Lilly seems calmer since i've made the adjustments to her living arrangements.

I can’t imagine Lily calm but she’s clearly pleased with your efforts!

Lilly spotted me so came down from the loft and run to her door. She's freeroaming now.

I was going to let Lilly out again as she's up but she disappeared into her shed!
She dug a little path earlier.

Hello little buzzy snowball!

Lilly is definitely a morning hamster. She's been out since before 08.00.

I quite like to give the hams a challenge to keep their brains busy.

Yesterday i put a couple of sunflower seeds on top of a ceramic oilburner hide that's taller than Lilly. She kept trying to climb it and then hopped around it for a bit sniffing.

She then climbed the bars, put one paw on a hanging toy to gain that tiny bit of extra height needed and pulled herself up that way.
