She’s going to be very well catered for, is that a crock I spotted there?

I haven't even decided on the colour for the shelf yet. I'd like orange but don't think they do an orange plastikote.

I’m pretty sure they don’t do orange or I would have found it before now! I do like the yellow though.

I was going to say they do yellow :-) Two different yellows I think. One a yellow yellow, and the other more an ochre type of yellow. Harbour blue was my favourite one so far (but I've only used that, the Green and the clear before).

There are a couple of yellows I think, I remember buying one that wasn’t anything like I expected but the sunshine yellow is nice.
I like the sky blue too.

I haven't seen an orange plastikote either but red and yellow mixed together would probably work.

I've tried that today and mixed yellow and red but wasn't happy with the result. It looked very girly and not orange enough.

Black cage, yellow wheel and big yellow shelf would make it look like a wasp.
Orange would be perfect with the yellow wheel.

Ha ha. So she has a yellow silent runner then? There isn’t a massive choice of colours. I like the garden green and harbour blue. There are some metallic ones as well as white, black and cream and a kind of red.

Or a bee, and bees are trendy right now! Although maybe that's a bit girly too.

Yes, she has the 9in Silent Runner. It was Scottie's who had two. Eddie has the other one.

Smiling at the care taken on choosing a colour what are we humans like 😀Petes cage base is blue it matches the room it's in 😊

Or sky blue. I like the idea of that.
I thought Sky blue looked a bit bright turquoise in the pot - maybe it looks different painted on. I’m not sure how to describe harbour blue. It’s a medium light colour a kind of light teal maybe but more blue than green.

Another option for safe paint is Little Knights. They sell sample pots and have a wider range of colours than Plastikote, especially of lighter pastel shades.

I’ve never been sure about whether that’s ok or not so have always stuck to plastikote. It may be safe in terms of emissions for babies but wonder if it is safe if chewed. At one time I wouldn’t even use plastikote. But it’s been tried and tested for a long time.

I’m still quite cautious about paints unless it says pet safe.

Edit - actually Little Knights do claim it is pet safe. They say toy safe = pet safe. Is it wipe clean and waterproof as well?

I’ve used sky blue a lot so it’s in the photos of my cages, I really like it, not ultra bright turquoise but not pastel either.
