To be truthful I would rather have had him in the playpen. I wasn’t expecting him to want to come out put he climbed in his veggie dish as I was just about to take it out. I have bought some rodent wire for a tiny little gap where he could climb behind the kitchen and I had not fixed it yet since it didn’t look like he wanted to come out. His built in “hamster gap detector” didn’t fail and as he tried to open the kitchen doors and failed before I could blink an eye, he swooshed through the gap!!! I panicked 😱 and tapped on the board, he came straight back out full of dust 🙄 lesson learnt! That gap will be closed asap
He is not in the least bit frightened of me, comes running up and climbs all over me. He is just so energetic, he hasn’t got much time for a cuddle 😅 he certainly has an attitude. He cleaned himself in between and had a few stretches, so I guess he feels confident. Oh and as Maz wrote: he knows where the door is too 😅

Nibbles is a smart little guy. No doubt who is in charge 😉 I'm glad he came out easily and that he is not the sort of hamster to sit around in the dust in a hole 😄🐾 What a boy, he is a great hammy 🥰

I was glad I didn’t have to remove the board. I know why he was obsessed with the kitchen yesterday, I had an apple cake on the counter top… later I realised cause he was standing there sniffing 😅
 
What an exiting morning guys!
We had a visitor, a thing that flew around and went buzz buzz, it flew through the top of my house! What a cheek! But mum came and got it out 😍 she then started chasing it around and wanted it to fly out of the door. I came out and sat on my house just to make sure mum was safe. She was so frightened! Normally my mum is fierce-less like me, but she said she has a problem with these mini choppers. They can bite like me, but if they bite her she gets very poorly 🤒 I am never going to bite my mum again. I have gone back so bed 🛌
Mum has made herself a coffee to stop shaking. The buzzer is gone 😚
 
Oh dear was it a wasp? Must indeed be scary if you're allergic.

The biggest problem is: my EpiPen was used and I forgot to get a new one… in winter I don’t need them. I was worried it would sting Nibbles, as it flew in his house through the top.

Yes, I don't like having wasps around in case they sting my guinea pigs. The only quick way is the shoe or the vacuum 🫠
