I think Raffy pouched it, or half of it, if I remember, and then came back for the rest of it. He ate it with great relishA slug? Arrrggghgg
I hate slugsHe found it on the floor. Started looking excited and sniffing it so I shooed him away from it but then needed to get something to pick the slug up in and when I got back he was onto the slug again and having a go at it by the look of it, and when I tried to move him he quickly pouched the whole thing! I then spent over an hour with him on my knee trying to get him to depouch it and it failed and he sat there stubbornly. It was early hours by then so I gave up and put him back in the cage. Next day I checked his hoard and his cage. No slug to be seen! I had expected to find gungy remnants but not a thing! Phoned the vet as was worried about bloodworms and was reassured that these wouldn't likely survive in a hamster digestive system as it was not a familiar environment for them. So I assume he had eaten the whole thing - never found any remnants. And he stayed perfectly well until a good old age.

Oh poor nibbles, it's like the film birds, not alot you can do unfortunately.Currently we have got around 20 blackbirdsliving in our area. The problem is they start singing before bedtime

It goes on meanwhile until around 10-10.30
Nibbles won’t come out until they have gone, even if I close all the windows they are very loud a repetitive sing (rather annoying if you want to sleep too)
So this means I can’t get him out until around 11 pm
I clean his toilet and try to persuade him to go back at midnight. My alarm goes off at 5.am
I am so tiredeven though I have a nap early evenings it’s not the same. He his literally waiting I his house for them to stop singing.
It’s very frustrating![]()
Poor Nibbles, yes hamsters don't always get on with birds. And poor you. Yes, I couldn't deny Socks his play pen time but sleep deprivation is hard. I suppose they will be quiet in winter. To Nibbles they must be very loud. Do they stop after a few weeks?Currently we have got around 20 blackbirdsliving in our area. The problem is they start singing before bedtime
