My new rescue dog.. Snoop 🐶

Hi everyone, snoop had a lovely Tuesday, it's going to be our last sunny day for a couple of days so we need to make the most of it. Snoop helped to get the last of the marigolds out of the greenhouse, so I'll get those in the garden 🪏Then he helped hubby to sort that hedge once and for all, he's fenced the hedge so that snoop can't run through again ( ha ha) Then hubby felt he was on a roll, things were going well so he decided to paint the chicken coop. With snoop sat the other side of the gate supervising of cause,you can't leave these humans unsupervised for a minute!! He helped us do some strimming, then it was time for his walk around the farm. He should sleep well tonight Ness

Hubby's put one marigold plant in with his tomato plants this year apparently it stops all pest's i:e white fly Ness

I did that when growing vegetables - had a row of marigolds in between each row of vegetables - it really works! It prevents carrot root fly which can smell carrots for miles around and appear and wreck things. They don’t like the smell of marigolds so stay away.

It was my one attempt at vegetable growing during the pandemic and got a whole crop of really nice carrots . A few beetroot as well but nothing else grew except the marigolds.

I was going to say I want to live where you live - if you’re having beautiful weather all the time! But then you said it was just for a few more days. Been chilly and wet here but today was nicer.

Agility sounds really good - he will love it. Are there any dog agility classes near you?

And dog dancing! Is that a thing?

Yes dog dancing is a thing they do it quite seriously on crufts. Snoop would probably be good at that but not me these days,I couldn't take the spinning around! We were told at the rescue centre that snoop was brilliant at agility,he apparently was the only dog that would run through the tunnel,the other dogs just refused to go through ( so proud ) so yes it would be great to carry that on yesterday we got up to a very wet day. Snoop as you know does not like his feet getting wet , it's so funny watching him going across the grass ! I feel awful laughing but it's just too hilarious so he was quite moody, I suppose it made it worse that he'd had two full days of outside fun and now he's stuck inside. We tried entertaining him but he wasn't having it at all. His face is still so lovely and scrumptious when he's moody so it just makes you smile Tomorrow is supposed to be a much better day,so he'll soon make up for lost time I'm sure Ness

How funny he doesn’t like his feet wet . Some dogs like to jump in rivers and swim! Maybe he doesn’t like the slippery grass?

That's a good point about it being slippery, Henry never fussed about getting wet and all our other dogs loved jumping into rivers or puddles Ness

I think alot of people tend to think that the dog is going to have a problem behaviour wise and it's just not the case. Most of them are put in the place purely because the owners situation has changed. Really makes you feel for the dogs

Thursday is a much better day, hopefully snoop will enjoy more outside time today. The grass is still very wet but at least it's not raining or misel is what they say in Cornwall. I think snoop is beginning to realise that he can control us if he's cunning and tries hard enough. All of a sudden he's not coming back straight away and if he doesn't want a walk to end he just stands still and won't move as it to say NO I don't want to go in yet ... I want to go round the farm again, even a treat doesn't work. We find it quite funny , I think it's lovely that a bit of character is coming out. He doesn't realise that with him being a miniature cavapoo we will just walk calmly over to him and pick him up ( ha ha) he's had much more time in the garden and he's happy. I'm not looking forward to the heatwave that's coming, you can't help but feel for pets when it gets too hot Ness

I know!! No one believes that he's 4 years and 5 months old . I think he'll look like a puppy when he's 12 bless him Ness

Hi everyone it's Friday morning and snoop is out and about early today because the sun is out and considering it's early on the morning the sun is very warm. He totally loves it when you say bench to him he just goes super over the top excited to get out to the bench, I hardly get chance to put the sponge mat on it's a race between mum and dog .. who will get there first! Of cause he does! He had lovely outside time but wasn't impressed when mum said enough now and made him come in ( trying to be a responsible mum, protecting him from heat stroke) he had a good sleep, after all the running around. Good food and another nice day.Ness

Well it's Saturday morning and if snoopy knew what's going to happen today he'd be so excited! He'd be so excited he wouldn't know what to do with himself. With it being father's day weekend our daughter's coming to stay! Snoop totally adores her, they get on so well it's lovely to watch He's really enjoyed having extra walks and fussy loves and especially even more treats. I'm not going to be the one who tells him she's only here for one night They're like two peas in a pod. He always sleeps with us, but when she gets up to say goodnight snoop jump's down off the chair to go with her... sweet It's been very hot here today and it's supposed to be one of the cooler days! Must keep an eye on Snoops outside time. Ness
