That’s interesting, I know mites don’t always itch but it’s unusual for them to appear to be causing a problem in that area, it usually tends to start around the ears mostly.
Hope the treatment does the trick for her.
She does look very cute there & it’s lovely that she’s mellowed & so much more easy going now.
 
No skin scraping, I wouldnt think she would let them and she stayed at home this time as it wasn't her appointment, but I'd imagine that'll be the next step. I dont think it's a usual presentation of mites but none of mine do anything by the book 🤦‍♀️ hopefully it works as she's already more bald than Friday when she went for her appointment.

I have another appointment tomorrow so I will probably be collecting her prescription up then.
 
She behaved reasonably well for her first mite treatment, once she realised the syringe poking her didn't actually hurt she stopped flailing around bless her. Luckily it's only a small drop and I was given a whole little vial of the solution so if I do end up squirting it onto the floor there's plenty there.
 
Well I got bitten twice but no blood drawn, however I was able to trim all her front nails which I'm really pleased about as some of them were really long and curved. Hopefully she's much more comfortable now and at some point will let me do the few at the back that are a little long.

She's getting there I think, I dont think she will ever be as tame as Pasha and Orsa but as long as she isnt absolutely terrified I think we'll be OK, both bites were in her cage trying to pick her up, once she was out she wasn't too bad, just very jumpy.
 
Well done with the nails, never the easiest job.
It does sound as though her trust is growing even if she is still quite territorial in her cage.

So we're on drop 3, it's still too soon apparently to see new hair growth but she will probably be going back anyway due to a bit of crust on her scent gland (lucky vet 🤣) either that or I'll mention it when I'm in next week and show him the picture, see what he wants to do.

We managed without any biting again which was great, again she was very flinchy in the cage but once out, was fine. She didn't even react to having the syringe of panomec touching her.

She's looking well and lovely :-) They can get a blocked scent gland sometimes. It may just need cleaning up or she might need antibiotics possibly - I'm sure the vet will help sort things.
