Second chance hamsters

Will be interesting to see if he bothers to walk across his cage. There are no obvious traces of him using the front part of his HH.

His life appears to be centred around his wheels. He sleeps in a burrow under his wheel to the right between upright and saucer going by the way he looks out when he surfaces late evening. He toilets to the left of the wheel and leaves his poops and wee in one area.

He ignores the sand jar at the front but uses the hide with sand on the big back shelf. The evidence is scattered allover the shelf. He doesn't get his food mix daily and seems to stock up to last him a few days. His fresh food is always gone in the morning.

Lawrence is like Finley personalitywise. Prefers humans in their beds. Like Finley he is an ex child's pet. Lawrence really is a night camera kind of boy. I may have to get one for the third time (returned two because i dislike technology) to find out what he does aside from wheeling.

He's not happy with me because i spot cleaned his toileting area and moved his cage so i can get to his smelly wheel for a quick wipeover without having to stretch over the cage.

Last night Lawrence sat on his wheel swinging slightly from side to side and glared at me. He stared directly at me for quite a while and then jumped off his wheel and dived down his burrow.

Lawrence has been up for adoption for a month but i am always truthful in my ads so it may take a while to find him a forever home.

I've just realized that this post should be in the Second chance hamsters thread.

It's now in the Second Chance Hamsters thread :)

Lawrence got lucky and found his forever home. He moved into a well set up detolf today. I'm so happy for him.

I took him out for a health check yesterday and he wasn't happy. He squeaked and glared at me and then sat behind his coconut sulking.

I think that Lawrence was glad to get away from me and the other hamsters. He needed a permanent home to settle and thrive.

I've just express set up a Hamster Heaven for a Chinesey. Attached cardboard on the outside to add more substrate. I bought a cork log in a hurry as the size was perfect, baked it for an hour then noticed the woodworm holes. I'm sure that the bugs aren't alive but will bring it back for a refund.
Had no time to add stilts to a house so used a shoebox house. I'm working tomorrow and overnight hence the mad rush. Hope it will all work out and i can get this rescue Chinesey after work on Monday morning. I have no space or big cage but this HH is a lot better than what she's in now. Life isn't always perfect and we have to improvise with what we've got sometimes.

Hope u didn’t buy the log from the Petshop where I work 😳😕x

I’m so pleased to hear you are going to get her so I really do hope it works out.
I’ve kept most of mine in an HH or similar size cage & they’ve been fine so that’s not a problem.
Really looking forward to hearing all about her if all goes well.
