Teddyx

Morning everyone, I hope you all coped with the hot night last night! Fortunately I have low windows on opposite sides of the bedroom so could open them on safety latch ( because of snoop) to get some fresh air. This should be the last hot day so things should get better for our little hammys and guinea pigs. Teddy had a normal night he was up a good 4 hours+ the temperature on his enclosure did get to 24 degrees. It's now dropped to 21 degrees. I hope you're hammys are okπŸ₯°πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒΈNess

Glad Teddy is doing fine 😊. It was slightly less hot here last night so not too bad. Still looks like it might rain as it’s hazy but it hasn’t done yet.

Teddy had a shorter night last night, he wasn't up as long as normal! He was still up about 3 hours. It was extremely hot here last night,I don't think any of us slept. Teddy really enjoyed his broccoli, he ran from the other end of his enclosure to get it from his special treat dish. I'm still trying to get that illusive photo for the competition,I won't give up, but I think I'm going to run out of time. I'll have a chat with him later πŸ₯°πŸ’•πŸŒΈπŸΉ Ness

Teddy had a good night last night, unfortunately I didn't couldn't get to sleep. It was still very warm and muggy. This benefited teddy as it meant I was down stairs pestering him🀣 he's really liking his Harry Hamster food it has all the things in it that he loves, I've had to change things in his treat dish because of things already in the main dish now but to be fair the treat dish is mainly for his veg. I think he enjoyed seeing me for longer last night. Fortunately he couldn't tell me to please go to bed πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ’•Ness

Teddy had a good night, enjoyed his piece of carrot πŸ₯• and a carrot nibblot. This morning he's quite noisy sorting his hoard out, I think I need to sort it out later. I'm sure that will please him. His enclosure temperature has actually dropped to 20 degrees which surprised me as last night was still very warm, but I'm pleased it's gone down. Teddy sends lots of hammy hugs to you all πŸ€—πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸ₯°πŸΉ Ness

Hammy hugs back Teddy :-) Yes it's a bit "fresher" here as well - due to rain tonight and tomorrow I think.

Hammy hugs back lovely Teddy. I'm glad your cage is a nice temperature now πŸ›Œ

Teddy and I had such a lovely session last night, I came down around 1.20am and he was waiting for me ( well.. I like to think he was!) on his usual cleaning station. I approached the enclosure giving my usual compliments he moved slightly to a more comfortable position and just looked so relaxed as I opened the door. Again he moved very slightly towards me. We had such a lovely moment and chatted for much longer than normal. I felt he was very comfortable with the situation and I have confidence that things can only progress and get exciting. Yes I could have pushed to get him in his carrier ( which he loves) but I'd rather go at his pace.love you Teddy x πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸŒΈπŸΉ Ness

He is such a lovely natured little chap, he's never shown any anguish or anger. πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸŒΈπŸΉ Ness

Super that you and Teddy are getting close and he loves attention, although he is a bit shy πŸ₯°

Thank you, yes it's great. I'd rather he be shy than scared of me and he certainly isn't scared which is great. πŸ₯°πŸ’•πŸΉ Ness

Hi everyone, I've been busy last night cleaning another third of teddy's enclosure, good job done! I was just wondering what you think of the fitch paper bedding , as I need to get some more for when I do his last third. What do you think?πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸΉNess

I used Fitch alot, with a softer paper bedding in the nest. It's great for tunnelling, not dusty and is consistently good quality πŸ‘

Thanks guys for responding, I decided to stick with what I've been using,it's very nice and dust free and teddy seems to be able burrow nicely! πŸ’•πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ€—πŸΉNess

I've been using fitch for about 10 years :-) It's good stuff. It's just recylced food grade paper. It is uk based so I'm not sure if they'd ship to Germany or not. You could maybe email them and ask.

While they sell various types, the best one for hamsters, in bulk, is the 70 litre bag. There is a larger bulk bag but it's not the same stuff - that one is stringy paper pieces and the 70 litre is smaller paper pieces, which is better

Amazon also sell it - so it's possible you could order it from Amazon?

Fitch 70 litres

What is it you're using at the moment @Vanessa1 ?
