Thanks Hank and Socks Mum. I had forgotten how tiring it was having a hamster free roaming. You can't quite relax!

Oh yeah, you got to keep an eye on them. That is funny, all the eagerness for freedom, then when the time comes instincts kick in. I bet once he's comfortable, he's going to zoom

Tino doesn't really seem to zoom generally What you saw on that video is probably the nearest to zooming for him. That time he escaped as a baby, he still kind of sauntered a bit. He was clearly a bit uncomfortable about open space in the room and kept very much to the edges. Yet he wasn't bothered by open space in the playpen!

Aw, that's cute! Tino pace is a great pace, good thing he has a nice home to take it slow in.

He's looking gorgeous It must be great to have him free roaming at last

Well he walks back into the tube ok to get him back still, but once back in the cage he's pestering to be out again! I just can't stay up all night though!

There's nothing quite like their excitement at the first taste of free roaming. Hopefully Tino gets out earlier for you, he's looking great though!

Tino had a good run around as usual. He still sticks to the edges of the room and isn’t that adventurous - he sort of does circuits. He did come back to his playpen area at one point and had a sniff of a few things and then he was off again. I didn’t manage to catch a photo of him while out but here he is trying to climb out of the cage door again after he went back in the cage.

Tonight he sort of froze for ages at the far end of the room as if he could hear something. It was a good opportunity to offer him his tube. He happily went back in his cage but once he saw the door was still open and I was still there, he wanted out again! So different from the shy boy who used to hide away!

Thank you - yes he is sensible. I assume he knows that if he didn't come back/walk into a tube, he'd be back in the playpen

Thank you He doesn't show up very well on video against the carpet and in dim light Plus he's hard to spot as he stays in the dimmest places. So it's quite hard to get a video of him.

I can imagine His fur is a lovely colour though
