Blossom šŸŒø

Iā€™d read that most muesli mixes donā€™t contain enough protein and need topping up with either science selective or other protein sources. The one I have is the one from the pet shop where I got her, so probably not the best, but using it up for now.
It depends which mix it is :-). If itā€™s Harry hamster then it contains all the protein needed but youā€™re right some mixes do need the protein supplementing.

I bet she pouched them! For some reason hamsters really like the smell of them. I think they smell a bit of gravy or yeast.

I think it was me that suggested adding a few science selective pellets to a muesli mix if the protein was a bit low :) As a simple and inexpensive way of ensuring they get everything needed. If itā€™s not possible to supplement easily.
I knew lā€™d read it somewhere :) tbh itā€™s too fiddly to fiddle around with bits of egg or chicken, and my husband thinks mealworms stinkā€¦and Iā€™m not mega keen either lol. So, I opted for the Science Selective as a supplement so that I know sheā€™s getting what she needs. The muesli mix from the pet shop was just in a plastic bag. I can get something different when it runs out.

I might not have put that very well sorry! I donā€™t think thereā€™s anything wrong with adding some science selective pellets at all bt it ddepends on the mix, if the protein is really low then they do need some additional protein foods too, it might be ok if the mix has a reasonable level of protein.

I made a small version of this treat ball as well as this big one. The small one sits on her platform and I always pop a little something in it for her to forage at feeding time. This evening she was pushing it across her platform with her nose and dribbling with it like a football āš½ļø Iā€™m sure she could have scored a goal šŸ„…šŸ˜…ā¤ļøIMG_6907.jpeg

Treat balls and roller toys are the best, just can't go wrong with either of them. Can't wait to see how she handles them
She loves those tunnels in the picture. Itā€™s so cute when she pokes her head out the hole šŸ„° She always checks her treat ball to see whatā€™s in it. She usually knocks it off her platform into her food bowl below šŸ˜šŸ˜…

New avatar šŸŒø My little girl is calming down ever so slightlyā€¦perhaps her new dig box is helping her to use up some of her energyā€¦she does like it šŸ˜ Also, I think she is using her wheel more, which would also help ā˜ŗļø

It is so nice to hear Blossom is enjoying her wheel. I always think a wheel is one of a hamsters most important things. :)
I still donā€™t think she uses it very much, but is gradually using it more. I woke up during the night last night and am pretty sure I could hear her in it. I was too sleepy to go and look tho lol šŸ˜“ I think she prefers her dig boxā€¦and egg boxes!

Blossom came out for a lovely long (for her anyway) playtime in her play box. She has been up late recently so hadn't been out for a week. I put a new dig box in her box which she really enjoyed as well as going in the tunnels. She came out on my lap too :)

Great photos of Blossom, she really does look like she enjoy herself there, itā€™s lovely to hear you had some time together & so sweet to have her sit on your lap for a while.

Yay! I've just seen Miss B using her corner toilet to do a wee šŸ˜Š She didn't use it last week, but this week I moved it to the corner under her wheel and she seems to be using it now. Pleased as it makes spot cleaning much easier šŸ‘
