I was looking at the conkers , thinking how incredibly shiny they were, like they’d been French polished!

They do - conkers are special. We used to think the centre looked like mashed potato Although we knew not to try and eat it!

I grew one once. It did sprout!

Lovely day for a walk today. I found a new location not far from home with lovely views I saw a green woodpecker and plenty of squirrels 🐿

 

[Maz]

Lovely photos - that looks such a nice place for a walk. Are those sloe berries? And I recognise hips (or is it haws). acorns and is that a teasel?

 

[Lovelyness]

Yes to sloes, acorns and teasels...there were lots of them. I'm not sure about the red ones There were quite a few other autumnal signs too

 

[Maz]

Well the red ones are either rosehips or haws (from a hawthorn bush) - I could never remember which were which. But it looks like those are rosehips and wild rose bush/hedgerow. I think the Haws were the ones that made itching powder!

I've been unwell with a chest infection for a couple of weeks but managed to get out for a short walk this morning. So nice to be outside and see the vibrant colours of autumn

We have snow here Brr. Didn't manage to get a photo before it got dark unfortunately.

We had a flurry of huge snowflakes, I think they picked up all the pollution on the way down but they melted immediately. Then the sun came out

It's been sunny here as well The snow came overnight and was all white everywhere this morning and sunny. Not sure if it'll still be here tomorrow or not but it certainly feels cold.

We had some unexpected snow too while I was getting dressed. It was lovely It was pretty much all gone by the time I got to work tho, and it was just wet and cold! The sun came out later tho.

Cold cold cold here. Heating kept coming on. Set to 16 degrees.

Feel sorry for the rabbit and guinea pigs in the shed. They have loads of hay but even so ...

Yes it's been incredibly cold here. We had to have some heating on low overnight. So the hamsters were fine!
