HELP!! LOST HAMSTER

I'm sure you'll get to the point where she can sit on the bed with you! Maybe you could have her in a box on your knee with some bits of food and a toy or two while you're watching a film. If the sides are high enough she can't jump out. A way of doing some handling/taming as well and chatting to her.

is it ok if she puts some bedding in her tunnel? cuz thats what she's doing i just dont want her to get stuck

Yes this is what hamsters do. It sounds like she is making her tunnel nice and cosy. :)

idk if i mentioned this before but she's a white face robo hamster View attachment 733
she looks almost exactly like this but she has a black streak on her head, this isn't my photo btw. Where did white face hamsters come from? are they rare or something? because I only see a few photos and articles about them i rlly wanna learn more about this type of robo hamster

White faced robos are so cute! Yes they are less common than the normal coloured robos who are brown mainly with different colours mixed in (kind of camouflage colour). The brown ones are also called Agouti. It's always nice when you see a photo of a robo sitting in a hand too! You'll get there!

From what I have seen, most robos are white face or the grey type. Mine is grey. :)

The Agouti brown ones are the most common :) White face less common. There is also a fairly new colour that's black pied. (Like piebald black and white patches). White face is a dominant gene though so if one parent is white faced some of the babies will be too (I think!).

Odd they are called brown. They look grey to me!

I think they're called "normal" coloured or Agouti - normal is usually brown but yes they do have some grey. What do you think Pip looks like (I call him camouflage lol). If you don't mind me posting a photo of Pip on your thread Debater! Pip is a Normal/Agouti. The brown faces make them look to have big white eyebrows :)

Meant to ask Debater. Does Comet have a wheel in her cage? They love their wheels!

Officially the brown colour is brown/beige with grey roots. Which might be why they look grey if the grey roots show. There are some other rare colours too. An all white roborovski and piebald ones (mottled patches of colour).

I read something from a Robo breeder once that said if you do tame them they are actually more tame than most other types of hamster and will just sit next to you - it's just getting them tame so they're not scared of you or scared of being held, that can take a bit of time.

awwww pip is so cute he looks exactly like the other hamster i have called Zuma, look at those whiskers!!! xd

That Crafty Crookshanks site you linked the photo from is really good on Roborovski's - the pictures are good and it shows the various different colours. Not sure where they got their information but it sounds right to me. Thanks for finding that!

That was the first time Pip came out of the cage. He sat and squeaked at first. Then he got interested in looking around (it's a penned off area) - then he found food! And stopped being nervous. Sometimes they let you stroke them when they're noshing food as they're too distracted by the food to be nervous (out of the cage that is - inside the cage I don't think they would like being stroked while eating as it's their territory).

Wheels - you need to be a careful. If it's an open mesh one they can get injured or get a food condition. It needs to have a solid running track rather than mesh. If it's not the right type of wheel then you can get a basic plastic one quite cheap. Or even second hand on ebay for a couple of pounds/dollars.

Or - if you're into making things and have a fidget spinner kicking around, you can make your own silent wheel :) Thing is that is likely to cost more in bits and pieces than just buying a cheap plastic one (although the one you have already might be ok). They can run in large wheels as well, as long as the wheel spins well. But it needs to be at least 6.5" diameter. The little tiny 4" and 5" ones aren't good for them. The one like the one on that crafty web page is fine.

But not this type. This has open rungs and isn't solid sided so they can get trapped when they jump out or get a leg caught in the rungs (the metal ones look similar and are just as bad but they have mesh instead of rungs).

Something like this type is good, with a solid surface
