You mean Jas is actually sitting still? I am sure she looks really cute eating from your hand. That was an adorable photo you entered in the competition
It's really nice - it shows she's settled and bonded with you. I think they have times of day when they are more settled than others as well. Are you still keeping her diary? I'm up with Raffy at the moment (not sitting cutely - he is racing around the room). He is getting up later and later! It was gone midnight tonight! I might have to skip a night and see if he gets up earlier.
Raffy sounds like he was having fun, but keeping you up late. I hope it wasn't too late.
I do still keep Jas' diary, she is getting up later at the moment, but it's later for her, so about 8:30 to 9:00. She's actually settled a bit, she doesn't come out as much or for as long. She used to come out for at least an hour everyday, and a lot of days twice, but she did wake up quite early. Now she will come out once for about 30-45 mins. She does like to interact while she is in her cage more as well, so she will be happy to play with us and we can sort things out in the cage and she is happy to just watch and supervise
I even saw her in the morning this week. She doesn't normally do that, she used to start her own playtime in her cage as soon as we were not in the room, but now she is waiting until 1-2, before she starts running.
I'm not sure if it's a season thing or not?
Thank you and I hope you are right Rainbow
I know she isn't a cuddly hamster, as Maz said, she doesn't have time, but she does come to us for interaction, which I'm pleased she is happy and now confident enough to do.
She does sound very happy and confident!
I think the time change & spending a bit more time in bed or underground is a seasonal thing, even when it’s warm indoors they seem to know winter’s coming.
I think so too. They don't like the cold. I've had times in freezing weather where I've left the heating on all the time (before the bills went up so high!) and it's been lovely and warm and toasty, and noticed they come out a lot more then! But they snuggle up in their nests more I think.
Jas' behaviour is changing, not only is she getting up later, but we saw her again this morning and it was late, about 8ish and she was awake for a while, even had little strokes.
She also had some free roam tonight and sat on my OH. Beautiful girl
Happy Birthday Jas! She really does look happy there. Her cake looks delicious! Is that why you were asking about yoghurt? What is underneath the yoghurt?
She really is gorgeous . Very cosy in the slipper.
The cake is mostly carrot, with a small amount of flour and water, just baked. I used the yoghurt as a topping and then a walnut.
She only had a little bit, I think she liked the yoghurt, she hasn't had that before.
