Jas, the hamster formally known as Jasper

Jas came out for an outing in the week, it was lovely to see her. The outing was long over an hour, but she was only playing for about 20 mins and then sleeping for the rest 😆
Even though we don't see her as much, she seems happier to interact more, when we see her, although she has become so sneaky, she can come out without making a sound, and we only realise when a treat has gone 😃
She still like to full her pouches

She’s looking adorable and very well 😊. I used to find they sometimes want out when it’s very warm and toasty in the house 😊

Socks slips out to pouch his veggies, but if I see him he is usually sitting with his back to me, concentrating on his dinner 🥬🌽❤️

Aw that's really great to see! That's a lot of time doing both things, she must be very content with you.

I think Jas is excited about Christmas, she came out again today. Quick play, then back to bed to wait for Santa.
We have turned the carrot house on its side, so it's easier for her, now she is a little older, but I thought this was a cute photo

Merry Christmas 🎄

Aw that’s lovely 😊. Tino was out too. It’s good she can still nibble the carrot on the house. She is looking in lovely condition. Merry Christmas to you and to Jas 😊 🤶

Two years ago today, we brought home a tiny little hammy, which we thought was a boy and that we had prepared everything for.
Cage changes, a couple of playpens, and multiple purchases later, we are still adapting and learning all the time.
My baby girl has gone from constantly moving and not wanting to stay in her home, to sneaking out, so we don't even see her to grab treats, when we are a very short distance away.
Happy Gotcha day beautiful

Happy gotcha day beautiful Jas :-) She has an amazing time and home with you. It's hard to believe, when she was so super active, that she now keeps to herself more - but I'm sure she's happy and loves her home and is ageing gracefully :-) Lovely photos!

What is different is that she is more vocal now. She squeaks sometimes. There doesn't seem to be any reason, sometimes she's walking, sometimes just washing and even just having a little snack.
The funniest thing she does now, is her seeds go in a little terracotta dish, which goes on her MCH, which is less than an inch above the bedding, if she can't be bothered to get on the MCH, she drags the bowl to her and reaches up from the edge for the seeds. You know cause you can hear her doing it, we were very confused the first time, then we saw her do it. It's very funny to watch.

That's interesting! I wonder what she's saying :) Maybe it's like being a grumpy old lady - I'll squeak if I feel like it and wear a purple hat and can't be bothered to get that dish when I can drag it instead :ROFLMAO:

Funnily enough Tino made the odd squeaky noise when he was on the sofa - he was quite vocal as a baby.

It sounds lovely if it's funny watching her drag the bowl as well. It's a different kind of interaction :-)

I wonder what she is saying as well. When she drags the bowl, she just looks at it and then thinks, nope can't be bothered, it can come to me 😃
