Aw that is lovely to read. He has grown so much. When he first arrived his paws looked so huge on him. He has gained a lot of confidence. Maybe one day I can get to see him in person.I was just going to say that - he is so cute! That’s a very good little wash. He seems so much bigger and more confident than the tiny little scared thing wheh you got him.
On Monday Orko will have been here for 5 months so it is still very early days for him. If he never wants to come out or be seen I am okay with that as I can see how happy and healthy he is from the camera footage. I would just like to get to know him personally as I love him so much.I think you will. I think Robos can take longer to get to that confident stage and like most hamsters they seem to get more mellow by a year old. They do tend to sit still when you handle them but often don’t sit still long enough to be picked up, They are supposed to be the most fearful of the species which is understandable when they are so tiny. But as with all of them, once they are tame and trust you they aren’t scared of you. It’s the taming that’s the tricky bit!
I have only handled Pip once. He was less scared of me after that though and sort of changed a bit.
That was a very clever idea and how cute Pip did not mind it and then relaxed.I had a small box inside the playpen with a thin layer of bedding and a bit of food. Think layer so he didn’t bury himself. Put the box on its side and Pip walked in to investigate it. Then turned it right side up again so he was in the box. The sides weren’t too high but high enough he couldn’t climb out. Once in there I could handle him about without having to “chase him” with my hand as that would be stressful for them. So woukd just pick him up and let him go a few times and not try to hold him. By the third time he was more relaxed so I tunnelled him through my hands. He accepted that but then used the opportunity to use my hand as a ramp and climbed out of the box lol. He looked strangely curious afterwards though and more like - well that wasn’t so bad!
No point really as I just coloured it in. Lol. I am not creative at all.Maybe you could add it to the diy thread?
I love that you have a toadstool tattoo.I love them! I'm toadstool mad, even have a toadstool tattoo.
Not trying to put any pressure on you but it would be great to know what kind of wooden toadstools they are and what kind of paint you used.
