Pip the Robo

I don’t see why you couldn’t put it in another bottle, I’ve never had it in a special bottle that goes with the syringe & none gets wasted there might be a residual bit left in the original bottle but that’s all.

Pip is taking the metacam well in baby food. Just a tiny bit of baby food on a tiny plate with the metacam on top. The plate has been licked clean both mornings. No sign of Pip though. I'd like to see him and see if he's moving any differently.

Well he enjoyed it the first night, without any metacam! When I couldn't get the top off, so I thought he would.

They do seem to like the metacam.
Have you still got the camera on his cage so you can see him at night?

Sort of - it keeps getting moved. I'd need to set the tripod up again.

This is some nightcam of Pip from last night. I still haven't set the tripod up again (or found it!). The camera was moved here before we went on holiday so I could get a view of both cages if I had it at the right angle - but it doesn't have a good view of Pip's cage.

So the first one he is eating his baby food and metacam and then climbing in and out of his sand bath. These are clips that have been cropped and joined together because he spent a loooong time eating the baby food and a looooong time in the sand bath before re-emerging!

The second one he is at the far end of the cage - either eating, drinking or washing at various times. So can't see how he moves around much really or how active he is, until I have the camera in a better place, but he is doing his normal hamstery things.

You'll need to watch full screen to see him properly!

It is a bit hard to tell without getting a closer view but he seems to be getting in & out of the sand bath easily enough & in the second one he’s still pretty speedy & doesn’t appear to be having any difficulty running around.

Pip looks like he's getting around at a speedy pace. I couldn't see any difficulty getting in or out of his sand bath.

I was just thinking that Pip's a lot more mobile than Finley.
Pip is pretty fit for an old boy.

I see him like this generally when he's out - which has only been once since his vet visit - so no real difference. What I'd like to see - if I get the camera set up pointing at the front of the cage again - is a better view to see if he still zooms around like he used to. Or if his low climbing is any better now he's on the Metacam and if he looks a bit less hump backed (some of that might be an illusion due to his fur loss at the back end but not sure).

ie whether there is any noticeable difference now he's on the Metacam. With that view I can only see him where he's mostly static - ie eating on a shelf, rather than on his wheel or zooming.

Are you trying to find out whether he benefits from the metacam or not?

Partly - to see if he's better, worse or no different.

Aw, always good to see more of little Pip! Hope you get the camera mounted well, such a handy tool to see if they're up to normal behavior or not.

Thanks ilguy. The only way to have the camera in front of the cage is if I stick it on the tripod :) Between his and Raffy's cages. There's nothing else to put it on for that angle! Now if I could just remember where I put the tripod ..................It's hardly a small thing! Had a big tidy up and been rooms round in the house and rearranging and now I can't remember where I've put some things!

Pip is licking his little plate spotlessly clean every day :) So he's getting his metacam and clearly loving the baby food. It varies between sweet squash and chicken and a veggie one. He seems to love both.

Aww, that is adorable! Lovely to hear Pip is enjoying the baby food. :)

Good to hear the baby food is working with the metacam, hope it helps any aches/discomfort. Lovely to see Pip pottering around in the videos, little sweetie.

Aw that's great to hear, love little Pip and his adventures.
