I think Pip wanted to come out last night. I haven't seen much of him the last few days, but last night he was out and about and ran into his taxi pod. I thought hmm I wonder if he wants to come out. He then ran half way up his ladder and stopped in front of the open door and moved as if he was going to come out I had a second where I was about to close the door in case he tried to jump, but he then went up the rest of the ladder. I thought - he wants to come out. But it was so late I was too tired to get him out and set up his playpen. I might prepare for it for tonight but of course he'll probably disappear again now. I think he knows Raffy has been getting a lot of attention!

Aw, hopefully he will feel like coming out when his playpen is set up. There is such a short time with robos as they soon vanish if they think we are being too slow.

Aww Pip doesn’t want to miss out on all the fun! He must have known something was going on & is probably getting curious.
It is a bit of a problem if you’re not all prepared when they suddenly decide they want out, or it’s just too late, hopefully if you get the playpen set up he’ll be up for some out of cage fun.

Even more odd is when we go to get their food and they do not want to wait for it.

I think Pip really wants to come out. But then he doesn't. Tonight he came right up to the open door again. I had to close it. He spent a lot of time running around on the top hammock reaching up to the roof as if he wanted out. Went off to sort his playpen. Came back - he was running around still. I tried offering him the snooze cube and he backed off. I thought maybe if I put the box in front of the open cage door he can just walk in so I got that. As I was putting the box in front of the cage door he was about to walk into his taxi - the tube and pod. But when he saw me put the box there he hesitated and didn't go in the pod and came out of the tube again. Just when I was thinking ok I'll put down the box and pick up the pod taxi. He then went back in his house. I am sure he wants to come out though. But now he's disappeared.

It does sound like he wants to come out just not quite sure or working up the courage & doesn’t quite make it.
If he comes right up to the door does he try to jump out? I just wondered if closing the door put him off a bit, it might be worth just trying one thing, whatever is easiest the pod or the box & then just waiting a bit longer to see what he does. Do you have the box/taxi handy if he comes to the door, maybe leave it on top of the cage ready to grab if he comes running to the door?

Which box is that? I thought you are using the pod as a taxi. I'd stick to the same taxi.

His taxi (the pod with the tube on the end) lives in the cage. All he has to do is walk into it and I can put my hand over the end and pick it up. But instead he was right at the edge of the open door looking like he was about to jump. The box is in the playpen so I had to close the door a bit to stop him jumping and went to get the box (so if he jumped he'd land in it). But yes I have kept that box near the cage now in case that happens again.

They are such maverick little things!

Yesterday Orko wanted to go in his playpen. When he got there he hid under a cork log and then I asked if he wanted to go back and put his taxi down and he went into it. They can be so hard to read!

I think they can be plain contrary sometimes to keep us poor humans guessing.
