Socks: Mouseworks Dynamic Cardboard Redesign and Basic Tunneling

Oh sorry to hear that. DHL aren't great sometimes (or is that DPD I can never remember?). What does the tracking say? Any option to ask for redelivery or leave it in a safe place? (But it is a large heavy box). Hopefully it'll come tomorrow but I think you can contact them - they have an app - try downloading that and there may be some options.
 
Last Friday was the delivery day, but In asked for if to be delivered today to make sure I was home to receive it 😏 There is no safe place unfortunately 🏡 I've sent a message to Omlet and DHL. I wish they would just be honest and say they don't have a clue what day they are going to deliver things instead of getting you into a bother about trying to be there when the delivery arrives. It's just pot luck really.

Thanks Maz, I'll get the ap, it should help. We can always stay with the Plaza if necessary, of course! And the Rolly still goes 🛞

I'm sure the parcel will get to you at some point. He would need to stay in the plaza until you get the cage set up anyway and ideally have a transition day first :-)
 
Socks: I like it when Mom is around while I am on my wheel ❤️
Mom: ...at 3am 😄 If I go off for a drink of water, when I get back, Socks will have gone to bed, or be sitting at the bars gazing out at me.
Socks: I'm a sensitive chap, I know ❤️
Mom: Socks was up yesterday at 4:30 am meerkatting for a run in his playpen. He did some rounds in his tunnels and a sand bath, then went back to his cage to pouch his dry food for the day's long sleep 😴 This morning he slept in, lucky ham!

Socks: There was some bumping noises just now, something is going on, hmm, I wonder what Mom's up to now ...🐾💤
Mom: Socks' cage has arrived. It does look nice ❤️ I can't wait to see him on his wheel!
 
I am glad it has arrived as well. Really looking forward to seeing how you are going to set it up.

Socks: Mom has already managed to fit two sides together in opposite directions, but she got the allen key back out again.
Mom: I think I should watch the video again 😄
 
Socks: I found my veggies bowl and pouched it 🥗
Mom: Socks came out just as I finished setting up the Omlet, so I let him explore.

Socks: I pouched all my veggies in my Omlet hamster cage.
Mom: Socks went into his old Boots shoebox hide with full cheeks and stayed there. I went to bed, expecting to have to move him back to his old cage in the wee hours, but when I woke at 2am, he had found his new wheel and was running beautifully on it.
Socks: My new wheel is fantastic 😍
 
Socks: Mom noticed me meerkatting at 4:30am
Mom: Socks wanted time out of the cage with me. He had a nice run in his tunnels and a sand bath. I put him back in the Omlet cage and he pouched his dry food and went into his new compostable MCH house. I added as much extra bedding as I could and had to go to work. When I left he was still in his new house and I think he will sleep there until I get back this evening. He doesn't get up until his salad bowl is ready, at about 7pm, so I will be able to monitor him then. It will be easier if he is comfortable in his new cage as having two cages at once is a bit crowded. 🪺
 
Aw that's lovely he was enjoying the wheel and food bowl. If he's going to stay in the Omlet cage, it still might be better to have him out of it while you finish setting everything up later - maybe in his pet carrier? :) Which I'm sure you were planning on doing anyway. He probably will be a little bit skitty if he went to bed in a strange place and had no hoard there. When you move everything across, I would move some of his hoard back in a similar location in the new house as well, as it will smell of him. I also put any nest/sleeping area bedding in the new house too usually :-) Avoid the temptation to clean anything! It'll be fine for a couple of weeks while he's settling in.
 
Thanks Maz 🙂 I think Socks' wooden MCH needs to come across and Socks would be better in his carrier while I am settling that. There are two platforms to decide on. I'm not sure if his dual chamber house will fit in as well. The perspex sides allow for loads of bedding. Yes, he needs his hoard and familiar smelling bedding to help him settle in 🧦🏡

I’m sure he’ll be happy to have his multi chamber hide back 😊. Yes I had to leave something out when I changed Tino’s cage as I had a lot of big things in it. But it was a hid he didn’t really use. Do you mean the cardboard hide might not fit? If so, that would be nice in the playpen.
