Tino's thread

They are determined little creatures ❤ Quite an adventure!

I love the way he got to go home with his trophy 🙂

The funny thing was - although he clung on to the pasta and it ended up in the tube with him, he completely ignored it once he was back in the living room and was just obsessed with getting past the barrier again! I would love to let him roam in the kitchen but can’t because it’s impossible to hamsterproof it. Not had a problem before with hamsters getting in the kitchen but getting them back from behind things can be hard!

Yes, kitchens are hazardous places for hamsters. Living rooms are much nicer. Stay near the sofa Tino ❤️

Aww, it's so fun when they have somewhere new to explore. I wonder how many trips it will take until he is bored of it?

When I first had my dog, he escaped from my parents garden through their back gate on my 40th birthday, and was awol for about half an hour before he was located. Every time after that, when I visited, he would make a beeline for the back gate lol 😆 My dad kept it firmly locked when we were visiting after that incident!

I do often think hamsters behave a bit like dogs 😊. In some ways. In other ways dogs tend to be open and innocent and hamsters can be sneaky ha ha.

Tino had lots of antics last night. He kindly posed in a Pumpkin fuzzbutts snooze cube for me then did quite a bit of roaming. Leaping around even. He had an energetic attempt to dig a hole in the wall where the barrier to the kitchen was, climbed on the bottom shelf of a side table and tried to a chew a small bag of cosmetics (they must have tasted edible) before I removed it, made lots of banging noises behind the tv rummaging in boxes there, and a lot of rustling when he found a large co-op bag which he jumped over and pushed behind. Came back to his old playpen area near my feet and spent a while vigorously having a go at his carrot cottage. Belying his 21 months of age.

He's going to drag the carrot cottage over and use it as part of his plan to get to the kitchen 😉

That sounds like an amazing adventure, he did so many classic hamster moves  The pumpkin is perfect for him, Tino fits in 100%. Does he have a favorite room?

He only has the one room 😊. The living room - he has favourite corners.
