A week in the life of my busy family πŸ₯°

Good morning Teddy! What a treat (for me) to wake up and see Teddy's cute face.

Beautiful photos of beatiful Teddy. It's very special getting a kiss through the bars!

The next thing I wanted to talk about today was my rainbow bridge cats 🐈🌈

Onslow πŸ–€
Onlow was adopted from a local rescue centre in February 2019. He had been taken to the sanctuary in a cardboard box after been found straying at the bottom of a garden in a cement mixer. He was actually listed as not suitable for children but he hadn't had much interest and the rescue said it was just because he hadn't met any and we were welcome to meet him. The meeting went well (he didn't really leave his hidey bed) and his adoption date was set for valentines day 😍. I'd never had a cat before but within 48hours of bringing him home I knew something was really wrong πŸ’” he wasn't shy at all in a home environment he was jumping in our beds and in our hearts from the first day but he hadn't touched his food. So I whisked him off to the vets where we discovered he was likely not 4 as the rescue had predicted but likely more like 14 and he had severe gum infection and his few remaining teeth were completely rotten so he needed a dental to remove all teeth πŸ˜” we did his dental but that was just the start of his problems 😞 we went on to find he was autoimmune and that he had lymphoma. Onslow was the absolute sweetest boy and the biggest fighter and he taught me so much. Days before his hospitalisation he laid guarding the girls as they got chicken pox one by one. Despite how poorly he was himself he never left their sides. Onslow taught me that sometimes you have to pack a lifetime of love into a few short months. He taught me that tomorrow is never promised and life is fragile. He was my then 1 year olds bestest friend, she still blows kisses to the sky nearly 5 years later and talks about him every day. I still miss and love him so much but I'm so thankful that we had him in our lives even if the time was too short πŸ’”πŸ–€

Thank you for sharing your story and photo of Onslow. He was a beautiful cat πŸ’•

Onslow was so precious. He sounded like he was very grateful for all the help you gave him. What a beautiful boy.

Onslow’s story is so moving, it really is a story of unconditional love, you gave him the chance he deserved & even though he was so unwell he spent his days surrounded by love & gave so much in return, sad but beautiful memories.

After school and before work it's time for a quick doggy walk πŸ₯°
(Cheated with an old pic since the weather is miserable this week)

Onslow’s story is so sad πŸ₯². He looks just like my pusscat Oscar even down to the white flash on his chest! Oscar is 14 now too x

When he was hospitalised for the biopsy he was fitted with a feeding tube, unfortunately he regurgitated and inhaled some of his vomit and was also diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. They didn't expect him to survive but he did, a few days into his recovery was when we got the lymphoma result. We kept trying with him but when we'd had him just 4.5 months, when his vomit was completely black we knew we had to let him go πŸ’”. Such a short time but you gave him so much love and saved him from further suffering πŸ’•

Onslow was a very special part of your family and I am sure he loved you all as much as you loved him. It sounds very sad but he was also lucky to have such a loving family in his last few months. He is playing free over the rainbow bridge now.

Looks fun - lucky doggy :) You have a lovely family and your children are lucky to grow up experiencing good pet care and the bonding that goes with it.

So a typical day in the life on a work day includes a trip to the supermarket on the way home, oldest has a school trip today so I needed to grab some bits for her pack lunch πŸ™ƒ

Lovely to see the photos of Onslow with the children.
Teddy looks really sweet saying hello there.

That's a lovely photo of the baby with Onslow and it's clear your children loved him. He looked like quite a large cat! And hello to Teddy :-) He seems to be getting braver by the day!

What precious memories of Onslow with your children. How lovely Teddy popped up to say hello. 😊

You have such a busy life! I feel tired just reading it (can’t believe I used to do the same - once!).

Photos of Onslow are precious πŸ’•
