Blossom šŸŒø

It looks like it's over her nesting area? When Raffy had a pile, it was because he'd dug a burrow underneath and it pushed everything up. He got quite upset if I messed with it! Maybe put some cardboard inside the bars next to it so it doesn't fall out so much? Hopefully she won't chew it!
Cardboard could be a good idea although I expect that Blossom, being Blossom, would chew it! I might just reduce the height of it a bit for now as itā€™s impeding her way to her water bottle. Her nesting area is under the back of the platform, although she could have had a clear out of her nest, and the excavated substrate could have been pushed forwards into this pile rather than any other area of her cageā€¦.in which case, she will have cleared out her nest as it needs cleaning outā€¦she does sometimes do that. Iā€m not going to be able to tell without taking the lid off to see her nest, which would totally disrupt the pile anyway! I know that she is due for a clean, so I suspect thatā€™s most likely it, so I think it will go tomorrow!

So, Iā€™ve done a bit of a halfway houseā€¦Iā€™ve removed the top part of the ā€˜pileā€™ so that Blossom can get to her platform and especially to her water bottle, but I havenā€™t flattened it down in case she has made a burrow underneath. I had a quick peek at her bed right at the back under the platform, and it doesnā€™t actually look like she has turfed any of her bedding out, so it may well be that she made a new burrow last night. Iā€™ve emptied her toilet too as she had pooped in it, so that will hopefully suffice for a quick spot clean. Iā€™ll see how she deals with the ā€˜pileā€™ and can always give her a bigger clean later on in the week.

That sounds good. I wonder if she will put it back again! :-)

Clever girl. Their strength amazes me sometimes.

I keep Blossom's food in a plastic storage container. This evening when I went to feed her, I thought her food could do with being mixed up a bit more so tipped the box upside down...not realising that the lid was loose šŸ˜³ šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø Not quite what I needed at the end of a work day when I was tired and hungry! Fortunately, most of it went on the shelf, and only a bit on the floor! I guess it mixed her food up tho šŸ˜šŸ¤Ŗ

Oh no, how annoying! I've done things like that myself. The worst bit is cleaning it up I find - especially if it's the kitchen floor and bits shoot off for long distances and under things!

How cute. Just remember later, when she starts running on her wheel, the noise will be the food moving šŸ˜‚

Ha ha, yes, exactly this!! I'm lying in bed and the sound nearly scared me out of my wits...until I realised what it was lol šŸ˜† She's running merrily in her wheel right now!

Blossom has been up to her old tricks while I have been away on holidayā€¦her banana leaf ball has disappeared šŸ¤”ā€¦also her tea light holder šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤” She has clearly secreted these somewhere secret away from human view lol šŸ˜‚ After my visit to The Blue Pool (see photos in Gardens and Wildlife post), I bought Blossom a little wooden toadstool as a gift which I thought would look nice in her enclosure šŸ„ I put it in her cage last night. She had a little nibble at it, then obviously deciding that it was a most exciting and desirable item, she hilariously hauled it down from her platform and down her ramp to her bottom platform by her nest šŸ˜‚ She has been a good girl for my neighbour who has been popping in to feed her ā¤ļø

Cleaning day shenanigansā€¦
So, I cleaned Miss B out yesterday. I discovered a few thingsā€¦
1) her banana leaf ball which she had turfed out her bed!
2) her tea light holder which she had turfed out of her bed!
3) her wooden toadstool which she had turfed out of her bed! (I put the toadstool back on her platform. She then promptly hauled it back down to the bottom somewhere šŸ˜‚)
4) her food stash which she had turfed out of her bed!
5) she has removed ALL the bedding from approximately half of her cage in an L shapeā€¦under the platform between her nest and her wheel, under her wheel, and from the small hide opposite her wheelā€¦so much for having deep bedding throughout the cage šŸ™„šŸ˜†
6) she has taken to weeing in the hide opposite her wheel, on the now bare floor of the cage. I thought I would put her ceramic corner toilet in there in the hope that she would wee in that instead. She spent the evening pushing the toilet back out of the hide and squeaking at me until I put it back under her wheel!

Whoever said that female Syrians are demanding was 100% correct lol šŸ˜
