Charlie Boy

So then,
Charlies latest idiocy is this the other night while pouching his fresh food basically a mixed salad at one point he had a large piece of crinkly lettuce leaf in his mouth and as he was trying to pouch it is was waving around like a cheerleaders pompom...! what a plonker. he gave up and bit it into segments and went off in a huff...

Its update time,
I've not been on for a while, things have been tough at times of late Mum's Dementia has gotten worse and My Wife's brother is also afflicted with this awful affliction, so a lot of time goes helping our respective families....
On top of this and being a Ham-dad I've also become a Hedgehog Dad to 4 Hoglets, which their mum seemed to abandon so a few months of nurturing has brought them on nicely so they can go off and do the Hoggy things though they are scoffing a full bowl of cat biscuits ever night and have their nest box to retire to when they feel like it.
Charlie is still Charlie, keeps himself very much to himself though gets territorial when it comes to cleaning cage time soI tend to dothat in the day time when he is asleep...
His latest special treat is a tiny bit of custard which he happily laps up...

I was just thinking about you yesterday :-) We had the forum anniversary yesterday! I'll link the thread below. And you missed the bunting all over the forum background :-)

Really sorry to hear things have been tough with your Mum - and Wife's brother as well. I've been there with similar things with ageing parents - but not dementia. It's very tough.

Hedgehog Dad! Brilliant! You don't live next door to Eriathwen do you? She had a hedgehog gave birth recently!

Charlie sounds very independent but sounds like he enjoys his treats :-) Does he come out much now?

So sorry to hear about dementia in your family it's such a cruel disease and hard to deal with I had first hand experience of it with my Mum and a cousin. It's lovely that you have successfully reared the hogletts and have Charlie for a distraction from the other side of your life I wish you well.

So sorry to hear things have been so tough with the dementia, it is a cruel illness & must be hard on you.

The little hoglets sound amazing, so great to hear they’re doing well.

Good to hear Charlie is still enjoying his gourmet treats.

So sorry to hear you’re going through difficult times with your mum and brother in law, dementia is so cruel. It must be very difficult with it on both sides of your family, hopefully you have others to support you both too.

Charlie sounds like he’s doing well, how lovely he enjoys his little treats. I found Ham became more giving of my mini cage tidies as he grew older.

Great news you’ve been able to help the little hedgehogs, don’t see many of them anymore. I’ve so many slugs in the garden they would be feasting here.

Speaking of slugs ............... You might want to check out Raffy's thread if you have chance :ROFLMAO:

Sorry to hear about your mum and brother-in-law.
Lovely to hear you've become a hedgehog dad. That must be very rewarding to see them grow and become independent.
Sounds like Charlie is enjoying his custard 🐹💕

Hedgehogs don't really eat slugs that much, the prefer worms etc

This is our second batch of hoglets we had a batch of 6 two years ago, only managed to save 5 through to their growing up and eventual scooting off..

Last night about 02.00 the lights down the garden popped on, peering out I saw a train of three Hogs wandering down the garden in a perfect nose to tail formation....

Charlie allowed himself to be out of his cage and had some sofa time....
Though he did like the fluffy blanket I'm sure he was nodding off...

Hello Folks,
Haven't got much of an update really Charlie is just being Charlie aka Charlie the lazy..! Though he has now developed a new habit he climbs around his upper level run to one of the corner sections where he poops and flicks some of it out of his cage what a little oik he is...! he recently allowed me to take some more pictures of him on another blanket session which he does seem to like quite a lot, especially burrowing into it..!
