Gardens and wildlife

That looks a lovely walk :-) Lovely photos. Great photo of the dragonfly. I thought they were usually a turquoisy blue colour.

Yes, obviously a different species of dragonfly 🤔

I wonder if males and females are a different colour, as with some birds?

Good question 🤔 I have just had a quick google and found that there are 57 different species of dragonfly in the uk, so I’m guessing this is just one of them 👍

Interesting!

Today’s walk in the autumn sunshine ☀️ The cows are Belted Galloways, and I think the sheep are a rare breed, Norfolk Horn.

Lovely photos and looks like a lovely walk :-) There are some belted Galloways round here too.

That's really beautiful! Looks like a nice, if cold, walk :-)

Had a lovely, sunny walk today at a local reservoir with plenty of birdlife…saw mallards, coots, moorhens, tufted ducks, Canada, grey lag and Egyptian geese, cormorants, swans and egrets 🦆

Lovely! I haven't taken any photos for ages :) Except when we were away between Christmas and New Year and that was in a city so not wildlife. Didn't take many either. Spring bulbs will be coming out soon. Our snowdrops are out.

I have some hellebores which I have now planted in the garden 🪴

Such a lovely place to walk, and nice bit of sunshine for a change ☀️
Here is my window box at the moment with some new plants. The tiny apple seedling from last year is dormant, but has a tiny velvety bud. I'm hoping it will survive. It's about two centimetres high 🌳
