Jas, the hamster formally known as Jasper

It sounds like she is doing fine in herself. Fur loss can be for so many reasons. So the linseeds haven't helped much then? I suppose it could be hormonal. All you can do is keep an eye on things and keep giving the extras maybe. I wish Raffy would wake up at 9 to 9.30 :)

Personally I would probably still give a pinch of linseeds daily, even if she's eating the flax, as it's a kind of regular "medicinal" dose then - they usually just lick them up. It has worked wonders for fur for me before. The only time fur didn't grow back on one hamster was after he had a scent gland tumour removed and the fur round that area (where it had been shaved) never did grow back fully. I thought that was something to do with not having a scent gland there any more. I wonder if she could just be having a bit of a moult as well. I had one Syrian who, at about a year old, started looking like a mangy camel he had so much fur missing - but it all grew back when I kept up the linseeds for 2 or 3 weeks. It turned out to be just a moult. Not all of them have this though.

I hope you're not worrying too much! They are such a worry when we don't know what's what.

Can you please recommend, where can I get just linseed, I can only find flax sprays?
You are right it is a worry and I think you start finding things, that wouldn't normally be a worry.
We did have a nice surprise this morning. She had a bit of playpen time in the morning, normally she will say a quick hello and run away, today she wanted out.

You can get linseeds from most health food shops - holland and barrett have them I think. I get them on amazon. You can either just get the whole linseeds or the milled ones - either are fine.

I get the brown ones. I have these at the moment - a bag lasts for years!

But have used these before with older hamsters with teeth problems so they don't have to chew them. This amazon link is for a multipack which is why it's expensive, but sainsbury's sell them. I get them on our food order as OH likes them on his breakfast! (I told him it helps hair growth!) Not sure it works on human males though!

I actually prefer the milled ones as then I know the hamsters are getting all of them - they just lick them up. I usually put them separate from the rest of the food on a little dish (jam jar lid etc). And the hemp seeds as well. sometimes they'll eat one, sometimes the other, sometimes a bit of both.

You can get linseed or sometimes they call it flaxseed from any supermarket, health shop or lots of places online it’s such a common human food now.
Lovely to see her enjoying her morning play time 😍
