Jas, the hamster formally known as Jasper

We all know hamsters can be sneaky, grabbing food when we aren't looking, but this has to be proof of how clever they are.
So, Jas has been given a large treat, she has only had two of these previously, and before she would completely shred it and hide it in her burrow.
In her mellow older age, it's lasting longer, however gaining access to the top is no longer climbing up the cage, she found another way 😃

She's built herself a pile of bedding to climb on😂
Clever girl

Aw she is clever. :-) I can see you Jas! It always amazes me they will just build a pile of bedding to get somewhere. I've seen hamsters in detolfs and tanks do that - build a ramp to just climb out of the top! When people didn't put a lid on thinking they couldn't get up there.

Isn't it funny. She started building the pile, and I couldn't figure out why. She's even moved the treat across the bars. Then this morning, we could see she was getting to the top of the treat.
I couldn't not have a top, Jas would definitely build and climb out.

You can't see these really well, as I've tried to zoom, but this is the result of the pile. She's tried to move it closer to the platform first and when that didn't work, the mound was built.

Clever Jas, they always find away 😃 Especially for something as yummy as this. Does she have a favourite flavour.

I don't think she has a favourite flavour, as she doesn't really get these very often, however I do think she liked it 😃

Jas does that all the time. I think she is struggling to get somewhere, so add a bridge or platform and she ignores them and struggles climbing up a different way

Hi Jas! (You could always do an "emergency name change" to Jasmine, if desired). You could be Zelda's twin sister :)

The hamster way is always the best way. Jas is a smart ham, awesome to see that problem solving in action

Hey all, random question time 🙂
Can hamsters get hiccups?
